These rims have asymmetrical holes (i.e, the holes don't run in the center of the rim.)** A: I have them in Bontrager road rims where the spoke holes are staggered left and right of the rim centerline... I got them just in time for a 2 day race so I will know after if they hold up. I really can't image any issues since the latex tube is now pushing them in. I installed them on 50mm carbon fiber rims running latex tubes and GP4k's. But whenever I build a set of wheels around a Velocity rim, I use the Velocity plugs instead of tape. They hold fast in the spoke holes, save a little weight, and make the wheel a tad easier to service in the long run (e.g. if you break a spoke).The only thing that bothers me about them is that they can be a little tricky to align properly in the rim bed (i.e. long axis parallel to the rim). This is not just a cosmetic issue, as a mis-aligned plug will have a protruding edge that could prematurely wear a tube.
