one to replace a bad drive in my home NAS and the other to ...
I bought two of these, one to replace a bad drive in my home NAS and the other to upgrade a disk in the same NAS. So far i've only been able to replace the bad drive (2tb takes a while to rebuild on a RAID5 ) but no issues so far and its exactly as advertised. As a weird side note it is noticeably lighter in weight then the Wester Digital i replaced it with so thats a thing.

I like Hitachi Hard Drives
I am using this HDD as a Plex Server storage drive driven by a Raspberry Pi 3 Model B. The drive is quiet and fast. I like Hitachi drives and have purchased several for both desktops and laptops. There are no streaming problems at all with my setup. I can run three TV's playing 3 different movies with no buffering problems.

Getting to hot
Good and fast but this hard drive getting too hot for me is good because in my pc case have a very high water cooling system I was not recommend this product for people not have a good water cooling case or nas system

noise too distracting but I can deal with it
idk if it's just the one I received but it is noisier than my previous HDD. After a while you get used to it but I think I the noise it too distracting. It works as intended and has great storage

New drives
According to SMART status, the 3 of these I received were new. Stuffed into a usb3/esata enclosure, they benchmark at ~130MBs. And they have the HGST name on them. For ~$30 per TB, I'm very happy.

Good product, no warranty if the seller goes away.
No issues so far, warranty is not through hitachi, it is through the seller. If the seller dissapears who will cover the warranty?
