Winsor Newton AWC Heavyweight Enamel Box - 12 Whole Pans [Office Product]

I do not need to expand much more on what Peter has already said about the box...it really is a nicely done watercolor tool.Heavy and solid, and the enamel surface is slightly rough so paint mixes spread into nice puddles rather than beading up. No need to roughen with a pumice cleanser. The deep wells in the top are great for making good amounts of wash. I was hoping for these but Cadmium is likely not coming anymore.I primarily bought this for the box and the paints are just a bonus as I will likely replace most of these pans with an assortment of half and full pans of my own paints.My box shipped from Sweden arrive well packed and in a timely manner. An old school box…expensive but glad I got it.

It would have been 5 starts but paint coloRTS were different than stated. NOT happy.

Love the pigments, they are transparent and vivid. The box is nice only it does not have Winsor & Newton logo stamp on the box as it supposes to be, very disappointed. The shipping was very slow because it sent from the third party from Japan, ordered it on Jan 8 got it on Feb 9!!!

Wonderful! An excellent color selection and exceptional quality. I might have preferred Payne's Gray to Black, but I was happy to have the Chinese White (my apologies to purists). Then there is the palette box... well made, well designed and a real pleasure to use. Four deep mixing wells and the fold-out surface provide all the room I need to work. Only one painting so far, but I can't wait to do more!

This heavy enameled box is made by FOME of Italy and it lives up to all of my expectations. I'm actually purchasing a few other whole pan Winsor and Newton colors in preparation to use it for an upcoming watercolor class. I like how there is a central area where I can put brushes or can put more whole pans using magnets. I love the FOME boxes and I can either put whole pans in this one or 24 half pans, not including adding some to the middle area.

I bought this for the enameled steel palette and I wanted to try WN full pan colors. I am annoyed that Winsor & Newton continues to include Alizarin Crimson in their professional palette sets. It’s a fugitive color and watercolors are so sensitive to light!The shipping from Japan was actually very fast (I live on the west coast) and the palette was expertly packaged. There is, however, no WN logo on the palette box. I don’t mind this but some artists might. Overall, it’s a great palette (once you replace the crimson with a permanent magenta or maroon, if that bothers you).

A nice sturdy tin with an ideal range of good sized mixing colours for a bigger brush.
