Barney Butter Almond Butter, Bare Smooth, 16 Ounce (Pack of 3)

I just bought a jar of this stuff on a whim last night, despite its $8 price tag and boy am I glad I did. I've never truly liked Peanut Butter, in fact I loathed it for many years...but as my tastebuds matured I learned to tolerate it once in a while with chocolate or apple slices. I've been searching for a common ground because my BF LOVES peanut butter, but only the "kid" kinds...loaded with sugar and hydrogenated oils. I like the fact that nut butters can be healthy and satisfy the appetite but I just couldn't deal with the Jif any longer. :) Well, I've found our compromise... Barney Butter is ever so slightly sweet (just enough, I think) and close enough in taste to PB that my BF likes it, yet it's missing that indefinable something that makes me dislike peanut butter so much. Plus, the Barney Butter is WAY healthier... compare the nutritional info on the jar of Barney Butter to your standard jar of Jif or Skippy. I know it isn't quite as pure as some nut butters since this still contains palm oil, BUT all of the No-Stir nut butters contain palm oil...it's a compromise I can live with if it means not having to stir anything with the consistency of cement... that just too much work for a sandwich. Anyhoo..this stuff is fabulous and I can't keep my spoon out of the jar!!! I was very glad to see the 3-pack on Amazon. I'm ordering it right now!!UPDATE: My initial enthusiasm for Barney Butter has not waned. Peanut Butter has never made it back into our house since. I use the Barney Butter in baked goodies, candies, smoothies, on toast, and on plain old spoons :). I actually buy 6 jars at a time from Amazon. LOVE IT!

I bought this almond butter having never tried almond butter. All I can say is that it is simply amazing! I put it in my morning smoothie and eat it out of the jar randomly. I can almost immediately feel my body being nourished when I eat it so I imagine it's very healthy for you. The problem I have is that it's so good when I eat a spoonful I can't seem to put it down! I even ate half the jar one time. I haven't tried any other almond butter but I am going to see if I can find something cheaper but equally good. It is a bit pricey at roughly $9 for a small 16 ounce. I gave it 5 stars for the overall quality of the product! Great taste, texture, etc. I'm telling you you will not be able to stop eating this stuff once you buy it. Fair warning!

I was not a fan of almond butter. I tried many brands, but they were all the same: thick, gritty, pasty, just gross. Then my daughter was born and we soon learned about her severe peanut allergy, so peanut butter, and all other peanut products, were completely eliminated from our home. We tried Sunbutter, which is really great, but always looking for new and interesting things, we discovered Barney Butter. I never would have tried it, but since we knew she wasn't allergic to almonds, and Barney Butter is made in a completely peanut-free facility, our allergist actually recommended that we give this a try. I have to say, it's amazing. It has zero of the yucky textural issues that all of the other almond butters seem to have and it tastes amazing. We go through this stuff like crazy! It's such a healthy, safe, and delicious addition to any pantry, even if you don't have any peanut allergies, but that's a huge plus for us.

I LOVE Barney Butter Almond Butter and like buying it in bulk. But, it does not save me money to get 2 good jars and one damaged jar that I cannot return, which is what happened when I ordered here through Amazon. It is just too risky for me to purchase it here, because I don't know if I'm going to get three good jars or 2...or 1...or none! And then there is nothing I can do about it. Grocery items are not returnable and there is no way to contact anyone about it. As far as the Almond butter, it is perfect! We eat it on everything, toast, english muffins, waffles, graham crackers, apples, pretzels, tortillas . It's smooth and easy to spread without being drippy. It's not too sweet or bitter. I'm just thankful there were 2 good jars!! But, that made them $12 a piece...yikes!

I ordered this almond butter quickly, because hell, Amazon is easy. I didn't really look at the ingredients, and figured that, because this is the best seller on here, it should be a rock solid butter. I received my package and noticed that the ingredients include evaporated cane juice (sugar, come on let's be real here) and palm oil (just buy me a ticket to the actual Amazon so I can cut down a section myself).Almonds and salt are the ingredients in almond butter.Almonds, and salt.I appreciate Barney hanging in there in the almond butter game, but I think we as consumers need to vote a little harder for legitimate products without fillers and flavoring agents.I am a big boy, and can handle the natural taste of food.Overall, the butter isn't terrible, and the price is pretty decent. I can't give it one star, but I probably won't order this variety again, I'll order the one with basic ingredients only and probably be happy with that.I am not sure
