Quick update, customer service was good and replied to email quickly. After attempting to program the collars 3 or 4 more times, all of a sudden they started working correctly. Just a note, other reviewers commented that you can't hear the audible tone. With them now working correctly< I can in fact hear the tone when I hold them in my hand and approach the fence. Its a chirping sound. It isn't super loud, but if they are working correctly you should be able to hear the chirping. I update to 3 stars because of the programming issue. We did the same programming process multiple times, and several times it clearly wasn't responding correctly, which was obvious when they did start working right.Not very happy with this product. We bought it and a second collar. There are two problems with the system. The second collar doesn't work correctly, we returned it assuming it was defective, and bought a replacement. The replacement has the same problem. It emits a loud chirping tone when it is in proximity to the wire. It makes the same chirping tone when you put it on the transmitter to program it. The first collar makes no such sound. Also the second collar doesn't appear to be programmable. We set it on small dog 3. We had tested the first collar at this level and you can barely feel the stimulation. But, when my dog approached the fence she got a nasty shock. We checked it and the shock level was very strong. To test it, we set it to 0, which should be no shock, and it still gave a very strong shock. We know we are programming it correctly because it is working correctly with the first collar. The second problem with this system is that the "tone" is not audible to humans. I have no way of knowing if it is even emitting a tone, and I can't time my verbal reinforcement corrections to coincide with the tone because I can't hear it.

My young Springer had a harsh reaction to the first fence system we put in from another manufacturer. His body‘s response to the unadjustable stimulation he received was a complete adrenaline rush. It would send him berserk, flying through the yard jumping at us, biting us and everything in his path. We knew he was too sensitive and needed to find something that had a better adjustability. We found that with this fence system. Not only can you adjust for the size of your dog, the containment field width, but you can also adjust the stimulation on a scale of 1 to 30. What a difference it made! We started him on level one, then once he was more used to it and began testing his limits we adjusted up to level six out of 30 which is perfect for him and his temperament.

I bought this system and collars in 2019 when my Invi$ible Fence system died of old-age. Cost is VERY good compared to Invi$ible Fence $$$$$ . If you have half of a chestnut in your brain for DIY, you CAN install this system.Collars are rugged, i have 3 large breed/high drive dogs. Collars are programmable for stimulation level and other items. The dogs do not break through "the fence"Support is great, I had a collar issue recently and they said "sounds like a battery, we will send you a new one" -- other companies soak you on Batteries.

My dog is so happy he knows his boundaries and had freedom to roam within them. It's the best system I have found! Easy to turn off at the control box to take him over the line on a leash. The rechargeable collar charges quickly and lasts over 4 weeks. Lots of adjustments to increase correction while learning the boundaries. Very durable, well made and easy to install. I highly recommend it. It's well worth the $.

So after struggling with Pet Safe Yard Max for several weeks, I returned it and purchased the Educator. It works as advertised/designed. The install was much easier than Pet Safe and the whole system works perfectly. My dog is in his second week of training and he is performing great. I have every confidence that I have chosen the right system. Sometimes simpler is better!

The description states that the actual collar is included, but it is not. Make sure that you have an extra collar before you purchase this additional receiver. I do not appreciate paying over $100 for just the receiver and not receive the collar to put it on.

Overall like the product and since install about two months ago batteries haven’t needed to be recharged yet. Unit is a little larger than some others.

Must rent an auger to install wire. After that, works well and a good quality product.
