My favorite notebook
This is my favorite notebook. I’m so sad it’s not available anymore and wish I had bought extra to stock up. It’s perfect cream white color, smooth but not slippery, 180 lay flat and 80gsm.

Love these books
I'm a pretty big notebook person, and love to have these ones to carry around to write my thoughts in. The paper is thick and the pens I use don't bleed through. It lays flat, which makes it easy to write in. Overall I am quite please. My only complaint is one stitching popped in one of the books but whatever the notebook still works great. Not even worth docking a star.

Unique
I love the binding. I love that it has no pocket in the back, no elastic band, and no ribbon bookmark. I have always found those features to be superfluous. The paper is opaque and the line spacing is a tad wider than Moleskines. I like the page numbering. I do have one suggestion on the numbering. The odd-numbered pages should be on the right, not the left. All printed books are pagination in that manner. Still, it is a very nice little notebook.

Definitely Recommend for Some Fountain Pen Use
I've tried a few different styles of notebooks from the Northbooks brand, and was stoked to try these ones out. Personally I love the look of the exposed spine notebooks, and the lay flat aspect is a bonus. I primarily write with fountain pens, but do use some gel ink pens too. I've had mixed results with Northbooks' claim that "Fountain pen lovers: our paper resists feathering, ghosting, and bleed through." With every notebook I receive I dedicate one page to testing my inks. Most I use are shimmers, but I do keep one pen inked with black for note taking. I included pictures of the front and back side of the page I used, as well as a size comparison to one of my pens. The product description says there are page numbers, but please note on the blank style that is not the case. I could take or leave page numbers, but I'm glad they left the blank style pages completely blank in case you're using these as sketchbooks. There is ghosting, or show-through with all the inks I tried, even the Pilot Juice Up gel pen I used. I don't mind the show-through I got, but it might bother some who like a fresh page look on the back. The only bleed through I had happened was with my wettest ink, which is also the only ink that had any feathering (the Colorverse Hayabusa), and the Pilot Precise gel pen. The other inks I tried I was happy to see did fine, no feathering even on some of my broad tipped nibs and inks. I look forward to trying more ink and nib combinations with these.I bought the pack of 3 and found the sale price point incredibly reasonable for the quality I was getting. Even at the higher list price I'd still see these as doable. They're right up my alley for aesthetics. I like the simple, smooth covers these notebooks have. It even looks a bit professional with the all-black cover with only the silver embossed logo. You can decorate them with stickers or gel pens, or leave them as is. Be aware that these will be the kind of covers that will show dents and dings, scratches and water spots without a cover. If you don't need your fountain pen paper to be Tomoe River quality, then Northbooks might be a contender for a simple, easy to use notebook to keep with you. I'm happy to read that this company takes suggestions from it's customers and hope that trend continues as they develop new products.

Love these
Man, I love these. I can't believe it took me this long to discover notebooks that open easily to 180º and sit flat. I bought these for work, and I'm realizing that college-ruled isn't really best for what I want it for, so I'll just buy more. Definitely a good purchase.

Well made, lays flat for easier note taking
Northbooks makes great products. This design is a bit pricier yet for that you have an agreeable working size that lands below a traditional cumbersome 11.5 x 8 and above the slightly cramped 5 x 7 footprint. The ability to open all pages in a completely flat manner is compelling from an easy of writing point of view. Spiral bound books are awkward to carry and add space to bags. The stitched binds gives the book strength as well.

Perfect notebooks
I love these notebooks for their simplicity and function. They lay nice and flat, are the perfect size to carry around in your hand or a small bag, and have a nice clean design. The perfect canvas for my to do lists, journaling, and all forms of note taking.
