Works well with my Canon R7 camera
I recently bought a Canon R7 mirrorless digital camera, but it doesn't come with a built-in flash. I saw that this Altura Speedlite was compatible with my model, so I bought it and it works great! I just leave it on auto and my flash photos come out with great exposure and no over-exposed areas. It is not too heavy and is comfortable to hold and shoot. I haven't tried any of the more complicated settings yet, but I am happy with my purchase.

Drains Batteries
It is a nice flash when it works. I have found that it completely drains batteries. I go through a set of double AA batteries every time I use my camera. Typically out on a hike for an hour or two and I only turn it on when I am ready to take photos. It also turns off in the middle of shooting and is slow to pair with my camera in the middle of shooting. Not ideal.

Excelente para mi Canon T7
Me gustó mucho, me funciona bien con mi cámara Canon T7. Pudé hacer buenas fotos en un ambiente con baja iluminación.

5 STARS FOR GREAT CUSTOMER SUPPORT!
I purchased this flash in November of 2023 and it worked fine. I had not used it for quite some time and when I started it up, I received an error code "E9" and the flash would not start up. The manual stated that the error had something to do with Firmware. I did my due diligence to try to find the solution, when I couldn't, I filled out the customer support form on the Altura website explaining the issue. Within a day receive a response from Jacqueline C. with troubleshooting tips to try. When those did not work, I responded as such, Altura is replacing the flash. Furthermore, I responded to Jacqueline asking what could have been the cause the issue, just so I had an idea, she responded with a great explanation as to what the causes could be. I was not expecting that!

Just ok
Its good and convenient but I gave it 3 stars because it drains the battery so fast. Unless you have rechargeable batteries its good otherwise you'll be buys batteries like crazy.

Yes this actually works with a rebel t7
This speedlight only takes two batteries vs the usual 4 I see, which makes me wonder how long it will actually last. I bought this one hesitantly after purchasing another speedlight, reading in the q&a that it worked with my canon Rebel t7 when in fact it did not. This one, however, specifies that it works with it and it is, in fact, compatible 🙌 It works really well so far. I love that the manual adjustment is a spinning dial vs buttons since that makes changing the power output much much easier. It's much lighter and more compact yet puts out a good flash, which I love. Its more intuitively designed than other speedlights in that I can figure it out without a manual for the most part, which is good considering I'm pretty new to external flashes still. The screen glows orange rather than green which I personally find less intrusive and prefer over others which glow green. I appreciate the fact that it not only pivots up and down but also rotates completely around, plus it doesn't feel as rigid to move like the slightly cheaper ones. I wish it came with the warmer tone cover but that's okay as I'm using it with a magsphere anyways. If I come back and edit, it'll be because it either super impressed me or let me down. No edit and you can assume it's meeting my expectations.

Terrible support, then the trigger failed.
This is a low cost product, purchased by people like me, who don't know very much about these things. The manual is poorly written, which DG must have known, because they have provided a series of videos to try to explain its use. However, they are rife with holes in explanation, and come off as commercials for the product more than anything. Eventually got the trigger to affect the speed light flash, but would never control the power settings (in manual mode) as briefly shown in various videos. Then it stopped working all-together. After an hour resetting everything and resetting synch setting, I'm certain I've exhausted a setting error issue. I'd return this, but I let it sit around for too long before discovering all of this.
