3M Rearview Mirror Adhesive, 08752, 0.02 fl oz

Update: parked the 4Runner outside for a few months in the summer and the mirror fell off. Not while driving. Just sitting there. And it got to maybe 85 outside. Pretty annoyed. Followed the directions but some tape on it to hold it in place and left it there for 24 hours. Rock solid, although I'm sure it helps that I don't live in a hot-ass climate.

This adhesive works amazing, but you must prep correctly first!! ***Very important*** 1) Make sure you wash the inside of your front window. 2) It also doesn’t hurt to apply alcohol over the spot on the windshield you will be using to attach the metal plate to the glass. 3) Make sure you clean the metal plate with alcohol also. ****If you’ve already tried applying mirror to glass & it didn’t work, this tip will most definitely work!**** 👇👇👇👇👇👇👇👇👇👇 4) Get a small piece of very gritty sand paper & scratch up the metal plate’s surface that holds the mirror to the glass so the activator & adhesive have something to grab onto. 5) Apply the blue activator to the entire back of the scuffed up metal plate & to the area of the windshield you will be attaching the metal plate to. **Wait 5 minutes** 6) Apply the adhesive in the center of the metal plate. The adhesive will squish out to the area around the rim when applying it to the window. ****(I actually spread the adhesive all over the back of the metal plate very lightly.)**** 7) Attach the metal plate to the windshield & hold for 1 minute. *****Here’s another hint to this working. The key is to get your windshield as HOT as you can. I live in Florida so my windshield is always hot. Take a hair dryer, or a heat gun, or leave windshield in the hot sun to get it hot.***** 8) Because my windshield was so HOT from being in the Florida sun, as soon as I attached the metal piece to the glass, it literally stuck to the glass instantly. I only had to hold the metal piece for a second. 9) *****VERY IMPORTANT****** Don’t put the mirror on the metal plate right away. Let the metal plate attached to the glass CURE for at least 24 hours. If you follow these exact steps, I guarantee you this will work because this 3M adhesive is great stuff!!

I have been an Amazon Prime member from the very beginning and this is the first time I have to write a review like this one. When the package arrived, I thought it was an e-bay delivery with A home made envelope. No biggie, we are in a pandemic. But here is all you need to know about the product: the glue you buy for your school supplies will work better that this worthless product. I followed the instructions step by step, and this is not the first rear view mirror I’ve had to glue back on a windshield, and the stupid thing simply would not stick. You have been warned, this product simply does not work as in not work at all. And, alas, the return policy does not allow you to ask for a refund or a replacement. If you buy it it will be akin to handing a donation because there is nothing you can do with it. I cannot believe Amazon sold this to me as a dear view mirror adhesive.

Used to Attach car Rear View mirror to front windscreen. Dries quickly, Ease of application, Glue quality seems good, bonding was firm.

the other day my mirror fell off because of the extreme heat. So i ordered this to stick it back up to the inside of the windshield. Frankly I was skeptical if it would hold in the crazy heat we have right now because this particular car is parked outside in the sun with the windows rolled up to avoid theft. It works though! It has been holding for over two weeks and yesterday it was over 100 outside of the car and probably 120 inside at the mirror mount. And this particular rear view mirror is sort of a heavy one with some electronics in it. I did make sure to glue the mirror mount point on the windshield just after the sun went down so it cured over night and didn't actually attach the mirror until two days later to REALLY give the epoxy time to set. Then i put it on and it has been working ever since! you will have some extra epoxy because they give you plenty so if you have some other things to glue I suggest gathering them near so when you finish the mirror mount you can use the rest of the epoxy on them too.

This definitely does work great, BUT you have to do the prep work CORRECTLY. I was initially disappointed, but then I called the 800 number on the package. They gave the clue, most of which in in the review by Leanne; but it boils down to careful cleaning of the windshield and DO NOT USE TOO MUCH glue. In fact they will tell you that you want a single drop on the center of the metal tab. Seemed unlikely but that was the secret. Clean a lot, use a very little glue.

It worked great, there was enough in this package to try applying the adhesive 3 times. You have to remove the "silver button" from the back of the mirror to get this to adhear properly. It will not work if you try to attached with the mirror still attached, it would be too heavy.

Shame on 3M for letting us down with this dismal mounting kit. I've used many of their products before and always had good experiences with them. But this one is miserable junk! I followed the instructions word for word. But even after pressing the button on for another 5 minutes when it didn't stick yet after 90 seconds, it just would not bond at all! I waited until the sun was below the horizon. Outside temperature was 65 according to weather apps and inside temperature in the vehicle was 69. I wanted to use this kit for an additional new mirror, which came with a brand new button. I thoroughly wiped the button and the never-before-used spot on the window with alcohol before using the blue prep solution and let that dry for eight minutes before applying the adhesive as instructed.

Work perfectly for mirror

I have been through at least 12 different rear view mirror glues in the last 3 years. they all have failed. Some have lasted 2 or 3 months. I am fastidious with cleaning the glass etc. I have just had no luck in the past. This however is holding after about 3 weeks. That puts it in the top 2 or 3 so far. I will update if the mirror drops to the floor.

Easy too use. Mirror is still in place after 4 months.
