Seriously, a GODSEND.
Seriously, a GODSEND.I am a recent college graduate who has an impeccable knack for screwing up her life in really stupid ways and getting away with it, only to feel guilty, confused, and lost most of the time. Add to that a cripplingly poor understanding of who I want to be and what I want to do, and you have a pretty worrisome 22 year old. I have been searching for a book that would help me see life and dreams and career choices in a completely new context, but I didn't want to browse the "Self Help" section at Barnes and Noble, so help me.I came across this book at my college bookstore, and just flipping through the pages, I knew it was something special. I saw big, bold, but CLEAR messages with such unique explanations and analogies that spoke to me, and helped me a lot in identifying what all I need to do to set my life straight, or at least, view concepts like success/failure differently.I got a feeling that the writers of this book actually CARED, and actually LIVED the uncertainties and confusion that they speak of. What an amazing piece of work and driven, cool, individuals that created it. PLEASE give this to your kids, grandkids, heck - parents and grandparents, too. If anything, I learned that there's no such thing as "too late" to get up each morning and try to rewrite the rest of your life. :)

Good workbook to help you find your way
I'm at a crossroads of my life getting back to full time work after intensive therapy with my daughter who has Autism. I am struggling with going safe and just finding any old job that offers full time or do I really have the courage to pursue my passion and incorporate my skills. This book did a good job at searching within myself to figure out what I love to do and what my talents are that complemented it. I was surprised at some of the potential jobs/careers I could pursue. Would've never thought of it on my own. Other books share their philosophies but this is more of a workbook that helps guide you in the right direction of finding a fulfilling career at this point in my life. I've already recommended it to a friend of mine.

A must read!
I was so excited to see this book pop up on my Facebook page prior to its release. Going through a typical "what do I do period" because I just graduated college, I pre-ordered and waited for the book to arrive for me to read. Needless to say, I couldn't put it down. It was a great balance of hearing others "roadmaps" to successful and fulfilling positions through success and failure as well as interactive work to get yourself thinking about your own possible "roadmap" to your aspirations and dreams. I just finished the book and will go back and go through each interactive fill-in section and give it the attention it deserves because it did give me direction as to what I can do with my already established skill set, how to combine it with my true aspiration and most importantly, how to move through roadblocks with grace. Thanks Roadtrip Nation!

It's easy to follow a career for the money but wouldn't ...
A MUST have for any GED graduate, high school graduate, college freshman, or just anyone who wants to change their life and follow their passions and interests. It's easy to follow a career for the money but wouldn't it be cooler to be in a company you relate to or to create a business where you call your own shots? They've interviewed so many people who are doing what they love. They have a show on PBS and you can all their episodes online but this book is a must have. For anyone at any age. No matter what you're dreaming of doing, it's all possible!

This is perfect for high school and college age students
I think this book is aimed at a younger demographic. This is perfect for high school and college age students. Also, if you need motivation to change your occupation or just to go down a different path this book will have some nice nuggets of motivation. Incredibly well researched and they have an abundance of interviews with people explaining why they switched. Some are famous which is intriguing, but most are just normal people which makes it feel applicable to the average person.

Insightful, Fulfilling, Inspiring
This book is a great for the open minded. Maybe it's time to dig for your happiness and try to pursue it. Roadmap brings you to a place where you might have been too afraid to take risks, follow your dream, or to simply figure out what you want to do in your future. You get to know many successful people and learn the hurdles they had to go through before getting to where they are now. I was able to reflect and have more of a desire to live life the way I want instead of what I'm supposed to do. This book definitely can help people out there understand their purpose and "Get it together"

More helpful than most
While there is a lot in this book (as in all career guides) that is basically just common sense, it has been a very helpful book for getting me to start thinking differently about what I want to do with my life and what attracts me to certain types of jobs. Of course that doesn't make it easier to actually find a job, especially if you've already gone down a completely different route (they sometimes make it seem like it doesn't matter when you change your mind and step off the 'conveyor belt', but I believe it definitely does). Great exercises in each chapter, I'll be reading this book again and again as I search for something that I enjoy doing AND pays the bills.

Simple and Powerful workbook.
This book came to me at precisely the right time in my life, and it made all the difference - total game-changer.Among the many self-help / side-hustle / what-to-do-with-your-life type books I've come across, this one stands out the most for two main reasons:1. Simplicity: while there isn't anything ground-breaking in terms of content, the approach taken by the authors is one of sheer simplicity; they deliver their message without any fluff and they don't claim to know what is best for you2. It's a book about work, and business, that wastes no time talking about money...and how to make more of it. Yes, we all know we need money, so it was refreshing to read a book that shifted the focus away from the tired monologues about 'make more money' or 'here's how I made lots of money.'This may seem odd, but, I really appreciated the roomy layout of the text; there is ample space on each page for notes, which really helps flush out ideas and thoughts as you go.I highly recommend this book to anyone who is tired of just reading and researching about how to change their Worklife, and would rather start making those changes, today. To that end, this book is designed to be a workbook, as in, it will work best if you sketch/scribble/theorize/ideate within the pages of the book itself. There will be nothing gained by simply reading the book - you'll need to do the exercises and in some instances, dig deep, but it will be worth it.So, GO!!!, order this book and make your own Roadmap!!

Travel Guide for the Soul
I bought this for some teenagers I know who are trying to plan their postsecondary studies. I quickly realized that this book is applicable to anyone trying to plan their life's journey. As the book reminds us, we always have to pause, consider, examine and re-route our life's journey at various times...no matter what age. I love the conversational tone of the book. You feel like you're sitting in your friend's living room in a big comfy chair, chatting, trying to figure out what life is all about. A very easy read with solid advice. Bottom line: you have to do your own soul searching to plan your life, but at least this book helps point you into the right nooks and crannies. Get it.

I cannot put into words how much I LOVE this book! It is like someone read my heart and mind and wrote a book especially for me. There have been so many moments while reading this book that I wanted to shout "YES" and "EXACTLY" and "THIS IS ME"! Seriously, it is so good. I feel so much more positive about myself and my future now and I have an idea about how to become the person that I want to be. Buy this book for yourself. Buy this book for all your friends.
