Tasty water
I am tired of wasting money on plastic crap that is just going to get thrown away and help pollute our wonderful planet. So I chose this, mainly based on the brand name as well as all the positive reviews that were given. I received it this afternoon and it took me a whole 10 minutes from box opening to turning the water on and letting it flush for 5 min. So 15 min total time for me, but longer for those that don’t pay attention to the instructions or have any common sense. It’s not rocket science. Also this thing isn’t gigantic, it looks a good bit bigger in the pictures. It’s about the same diameter as a Red Bull can and maybe 4” tall (guesstimate). The water flavor is a whole lot better than it is without the filter. So far so good. I have no complaints on this purchase as the price was good, got to me quickly, and seems to work perfectly. I have no regrets on the purchase, I will buy again as needed and will recommend to others. Update: We have run enough water through the first filter for the light to change (from green, to yellow, to red.) to let us know it was time to replace the filter. (which I purchased extra when I bought the unit) I have a chemical chlorine and a ph tester in which I used on the water both unfiltered and filtered. Our town's water does have a good amount of chlorine, which can sometimes be very strong smelling and southeast Florida in some areas are known for a higher lead level in the water supply. I don’t have any idea as to what our lead level is, as I have no way of testing for lead yet, but when I do I will update that info. Anyway, I can’t recall the initial level of chlorine or the initial ph, but the filtered water came out with what appeared to be no chlorine at all and the ph was 6.9. Both the original and the replacement filters produced the same results. So with that, we are very happy with everything that the system has been doing and have had absolutely no issues or problems with any of it including the aftermarket replacement filters. I still have no regrets on this purchase, with the exception of not getting it sooner. Update #2: Went to visit my mom in Texas and unfortunately the water in her town is highly chlorinated which both smells and tastes awful. So, they use a 5 gal water cooler for almost everything at her house and it is very hard for her to go get the bottles filled anywhere, so I pulled the phone out, opened up Amazon and ordered one and some replacement filters for her. Well she loves it, no more 5 gal jugs to have to fill, use, lift or have to worry about. Plus the machine does not get hot or cold and looks like it’s 30 years old. So with that, the water coming out of her kitchen faucet is not stinking of chlorine or anything else and is drinkable right out of the tap. So as soon as the 5 gal jugs are empty, those and the machine are gone. I don’t have my test stuff with me so idk what the chlorine or ph is now, so I can’t say what the results are but I can say I’ve been drinking nothing but tap water since I’ve been here. I will be bringing a bottle of it with me to test when I get home. So if you have crappy tasting water that’s highly chlorinated and smelly, this is what you need. I’ll be buying another again when or if it’s needed. I have absolutely no regrets on this purchase again. No need to look or compare with another, the price is right, it works very well, is easy to install and change filters. Just buy it, you’ll be happy. If I need another I’ll update again if anything is different.

It works great
I Love it, so much better than using the Pitcher. There is a green light to say when it’s working and a Red light comes on when it’s time to change it

Great tasting water-- no plastic in it either!
If you buy juice in glass bottles, as i do-- you can just filter your water from the tap through these filters into newly cleaned GLASS BOTTLES-- or, hey, try an Embrava container-- they have them on Amazon. Cheap plastic DOES get into your water-- and when you drink H2o from plastic bottles the plastic gets into YOU. You think your body knows what to do with plastic? Nope... it doesn't. Stop buying h2o in cheap plastic bottles....... Listen to your body. Fabulous filtering and delicious water... your body is made up of water... be good to you and filter your own water with Brita. -- then again, reverse osmosis is always...... lol..... not if you live in an apartment. I can't say enough about Brita. Been using these filters straight from the faucet for years. Great water. Great system-- easy to install, easy to change to hot water (3 way system is best for me)-- they last a long time!

WAY better than the other model!
This is the "electronic" version, i.e., it actually has an LED that changes color as the filter gets to the point it needs changing, instead of a window on the top where you have to use a flashlight to see the filter status. Pros: 1. It filters the water as expected, and the filter status indicator is easy to see. 2. It uses the same filters as the "non-electronic" version (either white or chrome), which is good, because we bought a bunch of spare filters for the chrome unit we just threw out. 3. It mounts to the sink using the same technique and fittings as the non-electronic units. 4. Water flow from the unfiltered side is much better than on the non-electronic units. 5. You get an extra "spray" selection for unfiltered water in addition to the typical "stream"; I'm not sure how much of an advantage this is, but it IS an option you don't get on the non-electronic units. Cons: 1. The LED operates with a battery internal to the sink attachment and supposedly lasts for at least 5 years, but it's not replaceable...when it dies, you have to buy another unit. I can't vouch for battery life, since we just got this unit a couple of months ago. Battery life is extended by having the indicator flash only briefly as you draw filtered water...it's not constantly "On," so you may have to wait for a second or two before the light blinks, showing you the filter status. 2. The instructions say to attach the unit to the faucet using only finger strength to tighten it, but unless your fingers are a lot stronger than mine, you can't get it tight enough to eliminate leaking with fingers alone. I had to use pliers, and it works just fine. WARNING: Use pliers to tighten VERY CAREFULLY. It's a plastic unit and you can easily break something or strip the threads, so tighten very slowly, just a little at a time, and only just enough to stop any leaking. Make sure all of the washers are properly in place before you install the unit on the faucet and make sure you haven't cross-threaded it. It's not that difficult, but if you have the reverse-Midas touch (every DIY task you attempt turns into unusable scrap), have someone with more finesse install it for you. 3. The electronic model only comes in white...only the cheap (as in "poorly designed") model comes in Chrome, but don't be tempted by that model, regardless of color. 4. Water in the "stream" mode tends to spray a bit...at least until the unit is "broken-in" a bit (a couple of days of normal use). I find that if spraying occurs, backing off on the water flow for a second and then increasing it to the desired level again helps to regenerate the expected stream. All in all it's a decent unit that does what it's advertised to do. Don't be sucked in by the less expensive, non-electronic units.

LOVE IT 😊😊
I recently upgraded my kitchen with the Brita Faucet Mount Tap Water Filtration System in Chrome, and it has been a remarkable improvement for my household's water quality. Pros: Effective Contaminant Reduction: This system is certified to reduce up to 99% of lead, chlorine, and asbestos contaminants, ensuring safer and better-tasting water directly from the tap. User-Friendly Installation: The installation process was straightforward, with clear instructions and all necessary components included. It took only a few minutes to set up, and the unit fit securely onto my existing faucet. Convenient Filter Indicator: The built-in filter indicator is a handy feature that notifies you when it's time to replace the filter, approximately every four months or after filtering 100 gallons. This ensures optimal performance without the Dual Spray Options: The system offers two spray options—filtered and unfiltered—which can be easily toggled based on your needs, adding versatility to daily kitchen tasks. Cons: Potential Leakage: Some users have reported minor leaks during filtration, which may require the use of plumbing tape to secure a tighter seal. While I haven't experienced this issue personally, it's worth noting for those considering the system. Conclusion: The Brita Faucet Mount Tap Water Filtration System in Chrome is an excellent investment for anyone seeking to improve their tap water quality without the need for bulky pitchers or under-sink systems. Its efficient filtration, ease of installation, and user-friendly features make it a valuable addition to any kitchen.

Not what it used to be!!!!
We bought this Brita filtration system around 10 years ago and have been happy with it -- the filters are easy to replace, give a helpful reminder at replacement time, and the 3-position stream selector is a very nice feature. After more than 10 years of good service, it was time to replace the entire system because the middle "stream" position wasn't shutting off when selecting the "filtered water" position. I ignored all the bad reviews here because we were familiar with the product, happy with how well it worked, and how long it lasted. BIG MISTAKE. The new replacement looked identical to our old model. However, as others experienced, I could not get the thing on our faucet! I could take the old one on and off with no problems, but this new model wouldn't stay on. In addition to not staying on the faucet, the "funnel" underneath the unfiltered part popped off! There was no force involved, and it didn't break... it just came off like it was supposed to be removable, yet couldn't be re-attached. Without this piece, the middle position sprayed water all over the place. I checked the old unit and that same part is impossible to remove. I spent about 45 minutes trying to get this new Brita to stay on the faucet and work properly, until I gave up and put the old one back on. I don't know why this newer model isn't like the old one -- they look identical. I wonder if Brita changed manufacturing plants, and something got changed in the transition? I recommend looking for another product over this one, even if you have used the Brita in the past and have been happy with it. After reading similar warnings on the Pur system, I decided to go with the Culligan FM-15A Faucet Filter . It doesn't have the nice 3-way streams or filter replacement reminder that this Brita has, but it's cheaper, the water tastes just as good (maybe better?) and it took about 30 seconds to put on our faucet.

Improvements Have Been Made
We have owned a Brita faucet filter for several years now and have mixed experiences with each. The reviews detailing the cheaper plastic parts used on the faucet connector are accurate. I went to a local hardware store and bought metal faucet adapters to connect the device to our faucet and these worked great and hold the device in place without problem. What few people realize is if you thoroughly read the instruction manual, it states you can contact Brita for metal adapters and they will mail you several different adapters to replace the cheap plastic adapters that arrive with the unit. I had Brita send me some for backups. Trust me, save yourself many headaches and get a metal faucet adapter (you can use garden hose style adapters). Recently, our base (faucet connector), quit working after a year and a half. The light indicator quit working and I've learned these lights have a permanent battery inside which cannot be replaced, meaning you must purchase a new base every two years or so if having a light indicator is important to you. I want to note: the new base we ordered from amazon is 10 times better than the base we bought at a retail store. The new base features a metal threading allowing the base to lock securely to the faucet. This metal threading is much more efficient in keeping the base and filter connected to the faucet head. It appears Brita has responded to the numerous complaints of this unit falling off into way too many sinks every time the water was turned on. I also noticed the switch on the base used to switch from filtered to regular faucet water is much easier to turn and actually glides with the simplest of touch. On our old filter the switch was very difficult to turn and often led to us turning the entire base just to flip the switch. Overall I am very pleased with this unit. The filters have always turned our nasty tasting apartment water into a refreshing drink and now with the improvements made to the base unit, we couldn't be happier with our faucet filter. Please realize it does appear this unit has been modified over the years so be certain you receive a filter base with metal threading rather than plastic. Pair this base with a metal faucet head adapter and you'll never see the filter go flying into the sink again. 5/5 stars for the newly modified Brita faucet filter.

3-way water option is perfect
I've used this for years and after about 5 years it finally broke. I love the taste of the filtered water and the 3-way option is perfect for my everday use.

Better functionality than the older model
Love the new sprout. Works so much better than the older model! Our old chrome Brita faucet started leaking after 3 years. Interchanging of water flow is much easier on this new model

Fuite au bout d'un mois d'utilisation
Ce produit a un défaut de conception. Une fuite apparaît après un mois d'utilisation. De plus il est quasiment impossible de trouver des cartouches de filtration de remplacement à prix abordable en France.
