Review: Olive Drab 80% Wool Fire Retardant Blanket - 66" X 90" - This is a great blanket for the price. It's warm and comfy. It's well-made. It seems huge! I haven't noticed any great amount of shedding. There was a mild petroleum smell, as some people have commented on, but after putting it through the dryer on low, it seems to have largely dissipated.

Ordered this blanket hoping it would at least be half the blanket of my original blanket. It is MUCH better than I expected. Thin yet dense, very heavy and insulating. It did arrive smelling of chemicals, which is to be expected, because of its high wool content. A deterrent to insects that tend to destroy woolen fabrics. I love this blanket and may buy another.

**Q: Can it be washed in the regular washer and dryer? Or does it need any special treatment?**
A: Washing a wool blanket, and ESPECIALLY mechanically washing it, will shorten it's life significantly.  All those fibers in your washer and dryer?  They're no longer part of the blanket.  Wash a wool blanket ONLY when it's really obvious that it needs it.  If you can just hang it in bright sunlight that's much better for the longevity.

**Q: how much does it weigh?**
A: It is extremely light and coming apart before I got it out of the pack. As bad a piece of junk as I have ever seen. I'm shocked that amazon still deals with it. Oh, and it stinks something awful.

**Q: What is the other 20 percent of the material in the blanket?**
A: Synthetic fibers and fire retardant chemicals with names that if people knew where in the blankets they wouldn’t be sleeping under them.

**Q: Is this blanket machine washable in water and laundry detergent?**
A: Well it’s wool, so machine was on wool cycle, on gentle cold water.

I like it. Nice size. Will be perfect to use in my sleeping bag. Washed it on gentle, dried it on delicate with a few dryer sheets. Remaing smell is faint. Certainly not unbearable. Left some fuzz in the lint trap. Nothing alarming. I havent used it yet for it's intended purpose. I expect it to be as warm as any other lightweight wool blanket ive used as a sleeping layer. I'll update this after I use it camping if it fails to keep me warm, but if there is no update, assume it performed exactly as I expected it to.
