Hi Thomas, I think that will depend upon your computer but it is a standard USB so can be used in a wall plug such as an iphone charger plug.

Can this be connected to Mac without using the dongle?

No it requires the 2.5hz dongle to work or use the wire.

Logitech, has this new version of the G703 been redesigned so the scroll wheel doesn't keep glitching?

this is an advanced logitech g900 model but the scroll wheel works perfectly well and you can customise its sensitivity with the logitech software, it also has a button directly behind it which turns it from clicking to a scroll wheel which will keep spinning on a smooth bearing till you stick your finger on it. very handy if you need scroll back up a lengthy webpage
