Gorillas in the Mist [DVD]

Dian Fosse couldn't have ever been more serious. She wanted the job. & insists to Leakey that he give it to her. So she goes to Africa & hires Sembagare. She must have been in the wrong place. Where she was in the beginning she found out that the African people hated those who weren't from their country. & she already had tried to get Sembagare to explain to them her reason for being there. But they ran her off. & she lost all her belongings. Hair dryer, notepads her clothes everything. They can steal all that & get away with it? Soon she found faith & courage through a friend named Roz Carr (Julie Harris). She had a beautiful house & a flower garden. She says to me this is Heaven. So Dian starts up again. On the other side of the mountain where there is no war.& keeps in touch with Mr. Leakey either through letters or recorded tapes. They don't exactly to talk to each other on the telephone. Because there is no phone.What she's doing is trying to save the gorillas from extinction. & make sure their population continues to grow.& catch poachers & cut the batwa traps. The main person she appears to be pointing the finger at is a man called Van Vectren.& she takes her job so seriously! & builds her own house on the mountain. She also records their sounds. & one night Bob Campbell (Bryan Brown) shows up & says he's with the Nat geographic. & wants some pictures. It takes Dian a little while before she lets him. Their love for each other had been in vane, he tells her he's asked his wife for a divorce. Brings her a puppy. He wanted her to go withhim every 6 months, then spend 6 months with the gorillas. He had to make a living for the money on pictures.Dian didn't accept his offer his suggestion.& tells him if you leave not to visit not to send letters. They fell in love but it didn't really go anywhere. Its plain & simple that Dian needed to focus all her concentration on the gorillas. & doesn't want to be distracted. I doubt she was trying to hurt Bobs feelings.& some of the people several of them in fact who were from America that she had hired were of no use to her.Against poachers she does what she does to get their attention even if it means getting violent & aggressive with those who get caught by her & her crew!The ending was pretty rough, someone is sneaking around outside then enters the house, then there's blood on the floor the next morning. I do not think her deaths a mystery. I believe she was murdered. Sembagare had already told her if you try to scare these people they get very angry. He told her that the people needed money from tourists,Its no secret why she was murdered. From watching the movie I guess that's what we're all brought up to believe.Maybe it is a mystery. But the real truth is very confusing! I was surprised that Bob Campbell wasn't at the end of the movie as well when she was being buried. Perhaps he heard about her death.This is a good movie. I have enjoyed it for more than 20 yrs. & I just recently got it on DVD. I have a tip, (If you choose to buy this movie on DVD be prepared for something you dislike. Because I have to fast forward through the entire movie before getting to the subtitles. Major Bummer)!

Excellent movie

S. Weaver at her best. The cinematography is out of this world.

Ce DVD "zone 1" peut il être visionné sur un pc français ?

Bien satisfaite de mon achat , très bon film mais triste .
