Shipped quickly .... in large box w/lots of packing. Unit is in a 10in x4in x22in box that is heavy. Top mount can swivel about -60deg and +20deg, reversible. Mounted on a crossbar 2x4 that I cut to fit the 15in between joists. Toe-nail these and end drill them with 4 square drive 3.5 in screws. Very stable. Fit the crossbar up in the joists so that the swivel mount is hidden. Just cut out a circle in the fiberglass ceiling panel and it looks neat. The swivel mount is attached to a adapter by one large 4in bolt and two 1.5in bolts and that's welded to the steel cylindrical tube. The steel tube is a double, one within another that extends almost 2x length, but I didn't extend at all since it's in the upper corner of the basement. I hung off the mount in the air to test the 2x4 crossbar ... so I'm confident it will hold my 37lb 32in 1080p LCD TV.The extra HDMI cable came in handy (7ft, not 6ft --- that's good). I'm using 3 out of 4 HDMI and was short one cable.Used only the 3 lag bolts to hold the swivel mount and then 4 washers and 4 small bolts to attach the 200mmx4 faceplate to the LCD TV. I'm left with a bunch of unneeded spacers, washers, bolts that I'll add to my hardware collection boxes. Glad I didn't need to hit the hardware store!I only needed a second person once: I found it easier to mount the faceplate to the LCD TV first, I hold the LCD TV and to have another person screw the large nut onto the end of the steel tube.I'd recommend this to anyone that needs a sturdy and flexible viewing mount!

Purchased one to mount a Samsung UN55MU6300 55" 4K Ultra HD Smart LED TV. Was pretty concerned about a number of things, including nuts, bolts, washers, and would the mount even fit the TV.Everything worked perfect.It installed like a dream.Rock solid feel.Could not be happier and for our application, anything $more$ complicated would have been a wa$te.Our application was inside a VERY tight compartment of an entire wall of shelves and entertainment compartments.Wanted the overhead mount for two major reasons.1) The depth of the opening is quite shallow and using a stand would have been precarious. Last thing i want is the big screen getting knocked down.2) The same tight fit and shallow depth of the opening makes rear access almost impossible with a stand.This mount solves both.Did have to cut the steel poles shorter to make it fit, but that was a simple adjustment.The very thorough and complete "connector package" had every conceivable bolt, nut, washer, etc. we needed. We live a long ways from a store and was super happy to not have some small part missing and keeping the project from getting done! The bolts/connector package alone makes this a 5-star purchase. (Remaining bolts/connector pack taped to cabinet, below the TV in photo.)Super secure and safe, easy to tilt and swivel for viewing and incredible easy rear cable access.Was able to do the install as a one person job, which surprised me.Overall, 5 stars without hesitation and really glad for this purchase!

I used this to mount a 42" flat panel with 200x200 VESA pattern to a flat, 8" ceiling (into the joist).This mount is impressively sturdy for the price. The steel is much thicker gauge than i expected. It also has an impressive amount of customization for tilt, angle, height, etc. I hung the TV using about half the adjustable height, then swiveled it 20-30 degrees to the right, then tilted it 10 degrees downward. This made the angle perfect for viewing while laying in bed. Two people are definitely needed to perform the final mounting step, otherwise assembly was easy. If you do plan to swivel and tilt, be sure to diligently plan where to secure the mount to the ceiling so you dont hit the wall with the TV when spun.The included mounting kit had everything I needed, and much more. I had several pieces left over that I did not need for my particular television.My only complaint is the cable management design. While the mount does not advertise any management options, i was hoping I would be able to run the TV power cord inside the rod and ultimately plug into a ceiling outlet. When it arrived, I was happy to see a fairly large opening at the bottom of the rod that looked to be sized perfectly for a power cable. However, the female end of the power cord (standard line cord) just barely does not fit. The male end (3 prong) has no chance. Had the opening been 1/16th inch or so larger, it would have fit easily. I found this particularly frustrating, since it was basically teasing me. I supposed the opening is for an HDMI or coax cable, but i don't see the logic in hiding one cable and not the others. A wall outlet would be fine, but then why buy a ceiling mount instead of a wall mount?All in all, this is a great mount for the cost ($35). It easily holds my 40 lb TV, and could probably hold 3x the amount when mounted properly.

It held a 32in tv in the semi truck from Oct 2021 until April 2026 with the TV always hanging straight down. The down pipe finally pulled out from the top swing mount. I would say it did great and will be ordering another if I can't fix this mount. I used a piece of 1inch plywood to make a false ceiling under the top bunk.

This mount is extremely versatile. It rotates completely around and the swivel has a bolt that you can adjust the tightness so it doesn’t feel flimsy as you adjust to your desired viewing position. Simple to install. I hung 50” TV on my porch from a rafter tail using a 1/4 base board for added stability. I have installed a half dozen of these and this one was a breeze as well. My attachment was perfect and I did not use the supplied pole extender as it was not needed for my application. Hanging your TV in the proper place is key so think carefully about your placement before you ymount it! This ceiling-hung TV mount was selected after comparing a number of competing models. It turned out to be an excellent choice.First, I was impressed by its excellent design, even if I was going to use it with but a lightweight 32"-diagonal TV. It allows rotation and adjustment in 3 dimensions and 2 directions: 1. A full 360° rotation around its vertical shaft. 2. 180° to permit adjusting the TV's orientation from "landscape" mode to "portrait" mode, and infinite in-between positions. 3. Tilting the screen upwards towards the ceiling around 10º and downwards towards the floor around 20°. 4. Adjusting the main vertical shaft closer or further below the ceiling. 5. Tilting the main vertical shaft up to 45° from perpendicular to its ceiling-mount screw plate to permit installation on a vaulted ceiling (with a triangular shim, one could install on an even steeper ceiling).In my case, I needed to center the TV at a shorter distance from the ceiling soffit than the stock mount could accommodate. But after careful measuring using a cardboard template matching my TV's size, it was straightforward enough to hacksaw off a few inches from the bottom of the upper (outer) vertical mounting shaft, and a few inches from the top of the bottom (inner) mounting shaft, in order to achieve the desired height of the TV below the ceiling soffit and above the refrigerator.Second, I was impressed with the variety of screws, nuts, and washers to accommodate common sizes of female VESA-mount threads in the backs of different TV models: 5 mm, 6 mm, and 8 mm, in various lengths. For some reason, my new 2017 Samsung UN32M5300 TV used metric 4 mm ["M4" with 0.7 mm pitch] threads, data bizarrely not provided in Samsung's electronic user guide or webpage specifications for this model, requiring some trial and error and a long internet chat with Samsung to confirm the depth of the hole and its thread and pitch size.So I needed to make a trip to the big box hardware store to get the right screws to mount the TV.The mounting kit also provide the extra mounting arms needed to accommodate VESA spacings of holes larger than from 200x200 mm and up to 400x400 mm. My 100 x 100 TV needed none of these extenders.Third, the mount is as strong as an ox, with four of its heavy-duty lag screws installed deep into my ceiling's joists, I am sure even the heaviest TV could be safely supported, perhaps even an installer doing chinups on the vertical shaft.Fourth, the instructions and parts list were clear and easy-to-follow, and the parts arrived in comparmentalized bags to make easier finding the needed ones to install.My only complaint is that the instructions indicate that one can adjust the tension for the 360° rotation (item 1. above) by loosening or tightening a large hex nut in the bottom of the vertical shaft. In the model I received, there is no nut -- only a round bottom with a huge, female hex hole, estimated to require an 8 mm, 10 mm, or 12 mm Allen (hex) wrench, a rare size even my well-equipped toolbox lacks. Before the TV was mounted, the tension was so tight that one could not rotate the lower section by hand alone. But once the TV was installed, its side edges provided sufficient distance from the vertical axis of the mount for enough leverage to rotate the TV to face in the desired north/south/east/west direction.Others have complained about the kit not providing lock washers. These can be easily purchased and installed by the buyerr. I will not be often rotating the mount, so I dispensed with them, tightening the bolts sufficiently to ensure they will not come loose.

Bought this to hang a TV from a slanted slanted/vaulted ceiling. I Say without any doubt that these thing was just what I needed and it is a quality mount.easy to install, easy to move about or tilt, the weight is minimal, and all in all - looks great....it's just what I needed. Buy one, love it, and thank me later
