Interesting ideas. Exciting and well done.
There are four books in “The Trysmoon Saga” series. They are one long story. Be prepared to read them all. The four books in order are Ascension, Duty, Hunted, Sacrifice.5 stars for Ascension. Exciting wonderful journey following Gen an orphan. The evil local magistrate bullies and harms Gen and others. Warlord Khairn comes to town killing many. Khairn forces Gen to learn to fight. There are magical creatures and healers in this world. It reminds me of Lord of the Rings with a little Harry Potter.4 stars for books 2 and 3, Duty and Hunted. Still very good as they continue Gen’s story.3 ½ stars - maybe 4 stars for the last book Sacrifice. There were sooo many battles and journeys. The main characters fight, flee and survive one obstacle, then an emergency happens and they are fighting something else. I was getting a little weary of battle after battle. But the overall story and how it ended was worthwhile. The evil god Mikkik was close to destroying all the good in the world. The epilogue was fun and very feel good.AUDIOBOOK NARRATOR:Simon Vance is excellent. And he does females well.DATA:Narrative mode: 3rd person. Swearing language: none. Sexual content: no details shown but a few occurrences are referred to after the fact. Setting: medieval time on another planet. Book copyright: 2014. Genre: fantasy.

I have loved every minute of it.
I hope this tells you how much I have loved these books, this is a message I wrote the author after reading book 4's ending:Hello there, good sir. I really don't know where to start here honestly, my emotions are kind of a mess right now, I just read the end of the Trysmoon Saga. Uhm, thank you first and foremost, for delivering this series of books onto the world. They are magnificent, they stirr up emotions from every corner of your being, it strips you naked and pummels you with joy, sadness, hurt, expectation, anxiousness and much more. I couldn't keep to my seat because I would get up and clear my head before I continued reading, simply because I needed to sort my emotions out. I have read way larger sagas with more characters and almost none have achieved what you have done in a mere 4 books. The characters seemed alive and completely real, as if I was journeying with them through the books, part of their party. I must say at some points in the reading I considered if you were simply trying to hurt the reader through the books, or if you hated your main characters. Especially through Alumira, Mirelle and Gen. The ending had me crying, and I do not cry easily, if ever, so yes, those scenes were very powerful, and I love your work for it. I hadn't felt so attached to a book series in a long while, and having nothing more to read of them cleaves my heart in two, truly. I have truly loved reading these series, be it for the negative or positive emotions, I have loved every minute of it. I wish you would've made more of them or allowed the reader to spend more time with the characters, I would've loved a lifetime with them. The world-building was turly fascinating too, but what truly stuck with me are the characters. Gen was perhaps one of the best written main characters I have read about in a very long time, but Mirelle and Alumira were both a VERY welcome suprise. They're both among the most interesting, engaging, endearing and inspiring female characters I have read about (or anyone has read about). I really can't describe how I have loved to share some of the main characters' life.Lastly, I wanted to say thank you again. I will hold these series dear in my heart and memory forever, I will go back to them too, it won't feel like the first time, but it will be a glorious read anyway.

Good story, but felt rushed
I enjoyed this series, and read them all pretty quickly. However, this final book almost lost my interest. Some parts felt much too rushed, some storylines felt like they should have been given a lot more attention but we're almost completely ignored. I read some passages and thought "really?? That's all you're going to say about that arc??" I know it's up to the author to tell the story the way they see fit, but it felt like they were rushing to meet a deadline. The story itself was unusual and could have been much more interesting. The fighting and descriptions were decent. The romance was atrocious, and was my least favorite part of the books. Gen,an otherwise likeable character, seemed like a total flake with his interactions with women. I'm not a fan of the love triangle. I'm not sorry I read it, but I'm glad to move on.

The end was NOT satisfying!
The first 2 books were so good! The 3rd was ok and this one was just too much for me!Too much of the book was about who should be in love with who and who should sacrifice that love for someone else and it was too much. The absolute WORST love triangle ever! And the wrong one wins in the end. I had to hold back some vomit when reading about this love triangle and was totally disgusted by it toward the end...eww.The 2 stars come from all the evil in the book and how they overcome it.

A Bittersweet Conclusion: Ode to Traditional Fantasy
I must confess that I initially read the entire series through Kindle Unlimited. What found within these four books made me purchase them outright. While it may disappoint some readers, the Trysmoon series does not break any of the traditional fantasy molds. It does, however, execute the age-old tropes extremely well. This is especially in contrast with some of the failed attempts to create "original" plots, which more-often-than-not ends in unreadable failure. My only complaint is that the title and cover are...less than appealing. Otherwise, a solid series. The lack of vampire, werewolf, etc. is especially gratifying. The ending is bittersweet, but I think it is a good conclusion given the plot developed over the whole series. I look forward to other works by this author.

Mr Fuller hits the woodwork.
What happened, this read like a Stephen King novel of old, where you have a big build up to then have the book go out with a whimper. This was probably the weakest of the 4 in the series & 1 or 2 of the plot twists just didn't work for me. It's very hard to critique this without giving too much away but I was really expecting a huge final battle between Gen & Mikkik, after all the previous books have maintained the Prophecy & anti-climatic just doesn't come close. A very easy read, with the feeling that each of the 4 books, is a chapter in a much bigger book, especially as none of them are stand alones. Well worth a read but it could have just been so much better.

Good, very good but not outstanding
This is the fourth in a quartet of novels that probably could have been told in just the three. It is a epic fantasy tale with well fleshed out main characters and a reasonably fast paced story. A little formulaic and and derivative but then I suspect fans of genre expect that which is why we read them! It held my attention to the last page and that in itself is recommendation enough. Indeed I looked to see if the author and written any other tomes but saw nothing additional. If you like fantasy novels, with swords, magic, heros, heroines, evil gods, battles, against the odds fights, plot twists, devious misguided fanatics and eventually a bitter sweet happy ending, then read them.

enjoyable, full of life
This saga is a very enjoyable fantasy read. In this genre I like my heroes, heroines and baddies to be of the classic sort. This fits the bill admirably. The language, from time to time, may seem slightly too contemporary but the touch is such that in a way it adds freshness to the tale. Noticing it probably means I am getting old, anyone under 40 probably won't even know what I mean ! I found the geophysics and geography of the world a little hard to rationalise at first but eventually just let portals and shards be whatever they were. The magic system isn't brilliantly described but this is more than offset by the enjoyable characters and well described action and events. Over the last couple of years I have been trying to find new SF writers and have been disappointed. Brain Fuller has convinced me that all is not lost ! I suppose in the scheme of things it doesn't hit the heights of Hobb, GRR M or Rothfuss but this man tells a good tale. You can get enjoyably lost in this book. Thanks for a good read !

At last another good fantasy series
Always on look out for fantasy series of quality. This qualifies - all four books kept me addicted to grabbing my kindle for a further read. Quality of writing grown up. There was a touch too much of the dead peeps coming back to life through some sort of magic which for me can lessen the excietement as you're never sure that bad news for one of the characters is really bad news or will they be back later. However I'm being picky, it's enjoyable - go for this series.

Sacrifice
I can see why some are slightly disappointed with the ending (I am talking about the epilogue), it's not quite what you expect & a bit sugary sweet. But I think the end of the action & the resulting deceleration for the main characters is quite well handled.I hope I haven't spoiled it for anyone, it is still a riveting read & manages to drag you along to the end at a break neck pace.Well done Mr Fuller, I'll look out for other books by you in the future.
