Very useful information and quick read. However there should have been pictures to illustrate. The pointers were well taken. Upon previewing the book it only showed one page so I wouldn't have known to keep looking for a book that actually shows the how to of makeup application. Has a lot of information packed into that little book. From how to cleanse your face to how long you can and should keep makeup before discarding. All in all I liked the book

Too much money for little pamphlet that has no pictures and information that is scant to say the least.

As a young-at-heart woman who is undeniably in the "middle aged" bracket, fighting the aging of my face is a topic often on my mind. I purchased this book mainly because of the tricks and techniques it offered for applying make-up differently that could give me that temporary trip to the fountain of youth mentioned in the book's description. And while the book does give me all the nifty little shading and color tricks and much more for applying youthful looking make-up, the thing I particularly enjoyed about the book was the section on preparing the skin for and the ways to do so. I didn't even think I would need to read that area because after all, I've been cleansing my face for decades now. But the chapter titles caught my eye and I started to read that section as well and was just shocked to realize how little care I am actually giving my face. I got in a rut of easy and quick, but what worked for me when I was young, just doesn't work anymore. Now I am doubly glad I purchased this very informative book!

I bought this book for my daughter. After having 4 boys I finally got a girl. I have never worn make-up and didn’t think about what I was going to do when she started to want to wear make-up. Needless to say, I was looking for something that would get her off to a good start. This book is perfect. It starts right out with information about taking care of your skin and what to do and not to do.We both learned a lot. She even got me to try some different foundations and colors. It was a real experience. She is a beautiful girl without makeup, but with the help of this book she is beautiful with make-up too! We enjoy girls day and taking care of our skin together using the hints and information learned in this book.

What I was looking for, was more explanations on how to make this look or that look. There was some good information in it though.

I got this book for my mother as a birthday present, but we both read it together. The first section of the book is about prepping for make-up, i.e. how to get clean, healthy skin, and I tried (and still use) the tips from the book. We both liked the step-by-step instructions because sometimes it is difficult to figure out why a certain wash work for one thing and another does not, and is it my fault or the products? The make-up application steps and tips, which is the rest of the book, are also straight forward, easy, and help a lot. I may be younger than the target age range, but I have problems with dark eye circles, and there is a whole section on make-up tips for that that work great! If you have aging skin, or specific things that you want to fix, this is an excellent book.

don't waste the money. highly disappointed with this book.I wish I would have did more research before. it tells you things you already know

I am new with make up. I've been watching youtube videos but I just needed something that's more elaborate and thorough. This book provides not only how to do make up but actually how to take care of your skin as well which I find it very helpful. It also teaches what type of products are available out there to better suite your skin type. I learned a lot, as a beginner, on make up with this guide.

Was expecting some pictures not just information. A bit too simple even for beginners

I was disappointed with this book. it's supposed to be a book about how to apply makeup, but there was not one single picture about any face or makeup application technique in the book.it was written like a novel.It explains how to apply makeup in writing, but that does not help at all. One needs to see pictures with the actual technique of, "how to do something". It's no use to just read about it.
