Habitrail Mini Loft, Hamster Cage Accessories for Small Animal Habitats

When you buy habitrail products you need to understand there are two types - regular and mini. ALL habitrail mini products are specifically meant for mice and dwarf hamsters, NOTHING larger!!!We care for 15 rescue roborovski dwarf hamsters and have 6 different habitats with tubes, toys, and hideaways for each one, so we can keep them separated by gender and compatability. All of the Hagen habitrail mini products work great for dwarf hamsters, since they are smaller to make it easier for the little folk to get around in them. The larger habitrails don't work well for dwarfs and mice - in fact, some of them don't work at all. They're just too big. So if you have the larger rodents such as Syrian hamsters or rats, get the larger habitrail products. It's easy to distinguish them - the larger ones are marked "habitrail" while the smaller ones are all marked "habitrail mini".You also need to get used to using the connectors. The so-called instructions on Hagen products are pretty worthless. Make sure you have both tubes you're connecting set securely into the connector with the outer ring loose on the inner ring. Then while the two tubes you're connecting are both snuggly fit into the connector, turn the outer connector ring until the little grooves in the inner and outer rings are pretty much lined up with each other. It doesn't have to be exactly lined up but just close to each other. You'll notice that it takes quite a bit of strength to turn the outer ring to make it line up like this. But once you get the hang of it, the great part of these connectors is that they are foolproof. They absolutely will not come loose once they are tightened like this. The Crittertrail and SAM connectors aren't nearly as tight as these Habitrail connectors. So when I've used those kinds, our curious cats were able to knock the tubes loose so one of the high speed little Robos got out. It's quite a chore to retrieve one once they're loose. Can take up to two hours to lure them out of their hiding place with their favorite foods.I highly recommend the Habitrail mini equipment for anyone with dwarf hamsters or mice. They love the smaller size and variety of different things to do in the whole mini line. There are a few of the mini items that I haven't found very useful and have discontinued using: the mushroom waterer is worthless - leaks all over the cage; and anything where they have to climb straight up like the mushroom house or the mini tower are pretty worthless, at least for dwarf hamsters because they can't climb straight up the tubes - they have to be angled for them to be able to climb.

The media could not be loaded.  The Habitrail Mini Mushroom Oasis is designed for mice and dwarf hamsters, we have Robo Hamsters so I thought I would try this unique looking drinker out.This drinker is easy to fill and does not leak the way drip drinkers can and often do. This drinker has three small open surface access points for your mouse or hamster to drink by lapping or sipping the water without drips falling into the cage, or on the pet.It also looks very interesting and adds character to your mouse or dwarf hamster cage. When I made the review video, the hamsters had not accessed the water and sipped any yet, but they have since, so that was a relief to see them finally use it.Why four stars? Well, I took a star as I think the base could be wider for more stability and taller to raise the drinking openings higher for deeper litter. The sides of the base could be rougher textured so pets can park their front paws on it while drinking without constantly slipping off.Also, this drinker gets a tiny mark-down for cleaning access to the mushroom reservoir, I can see that getting dirty over time and you really can't clean all the interior angles.Overall I do recommend it as it is interesting as well as functional and I like the lack of dripping... definitely a design that could be built on and revised. One more tiny downside is that it has to sit on the bottom of the cage, taking up roaming space.Larger hamsters, gerbils, or rats would simply knock it over and be frustrated by the small accesses so definitely only get this for mice and dwarf hamster species.I would give it 4.5 stars if that had been an option.

I don't see why anyone would have issues with a domed caged? This awesome free-wheel slips right through the dome holes of the Habitrail Ovo Mini and adjusts easily to hang comfortably for my 2 robo dwarfs (Lucky and Charm) to reach. In fact, this wheel will work with about every cage that I can think of... wires or plastic. This is more narrow and allows more room in the Habitrail Mini cage than the stock wheel, and it looks way cooler too! Right when I put it in the cage the hamsters jumped in the wheel one by on and off they ran - as speedy as always!I find cleaning to be way easier than the stock wheel and don't understand the complaints? It just slips off off of the cord from the inside by a small notch and slips in just as easy. Just squirt on some soap, spray and slip it back in the notch. Once it's adjusted from the first time you hang it you never have to adjust it again and never remove the cord it hangs from! It's simple and it takes two minutes! It's quicker than cleaning the  Habitrail OVO Club Trainer , or the stock wheel by far!Overall, entertaining for both hamster and me, affordable, pleasing to look at and easy to clean!Update June 12, 2013 - My two dwarfs have had the Mini Exercise Wheel in there OVO Mini domed cage for almost a year now in place of the stock wheel. I also have the Club Trainer and another free wheel attached to the wiring of their outdoor space, which is attached to their OVO cage. Out of the three wheels in their massive living space my dwarfs prefer the Mini Exercise wheel by far. They get this wheel spinning so fast. It is the perfect size for them and fits their bodies better than the other two wheels.If you have a Robo Dwarf I highly recommend this in place of any wheel. It will work in nearly every cage, not just the OVO. It is extremely quiet (silent actually), and takes clutter out of a clunky wheel out of the cage. Your hamster's will love you for it!

Useful addition to Dwalf Hamster habitat if already have Habitrail environment. Problem I would say with this stuff is that you need at least 2 Habitrail products and ideally 3 to make a good Hamster home. The curve can be used separate from the loft as all Habitral parts are inter connectable. We leave carrot peelings, cucumber ends and broccoli stalks in there as a supplement to dry food.

Great wheel for the habitrail mini. Too small for hamsters (robos should be fine) but great for my mice. Has a continuous slit in the middle so that mice don't suffer back or tail problems.

A mi me ha resultado muy util es grande y tiene sitios por donde cae agua 💧 a mi hamster le gusta lavarse la cara ahí y jugar con el agua. Lo recomiendo
