Great projector
I've had my PF1500 for about a week now, and love it. I am upgrading from an LG 75U which I've had for the past 2 and a half years and this new one is a very noticeable improvement. The image quality on a 100 inch Elite acoustically transparent screen is gorgeous. The picture is bright, sharp and detailed, with vibrant colors. I just got through watching Avatar on blu ray tonight and I found myself saying "wow!" many times while enjoying the picture and sound. One of the improvements from the 75U to the 1500 is the addition of an optical digital audio output. Both projectors have a built in OTA digital tuner, but I never made use of the one in the 75U because there was no way to get the digital audio signal out of the projector and into my pre amp processor to run through my 7.2 channel surround sound. I ran a 25 ft Toslink cable from the 1500 to one of the preamp's digital inputs and get the full quality Dolby Digital signal from the tuner in the 1500. It works perfectly and the quality of the picture from the OTA antenna is frequently better than my Uverse cable offers. And of course, the OTA signal..and I receive 47 digital channels in my community...is free. The throw distance of the 1500 is very close to the same as the 75U. The zoom feature that the 1500 adds helps to fine tune the picture size, but not by much. Just make sure you mount the projector the proper distance from your screen to get the image size you are looking for. I have it ceiling mounted, and the projector sensed it's upside down orientation and set the picture appropriately for it so the image is rightside up on the screen. The projector does have a larger app complement than my old one, but I really don't make use of that since I have a Roku 3 attached which I love and am used to. I haven't tried all of the features yet, I've been so enamored of the picture quality that I've spent my time trying out different movies and video sources on it. It's comforting knowing that while I'm using it, my light source has a projected life of 30,000 hours so I don't have to worry about a bulb losing it's brightness and then burning out and having to be replaced. One additional point of interest. The 1500 comes with one "magic remote", which is rf (radio frequency) or blue tooth or some combination of the two, rather than infrared. However, it DOES have an ir receiver built in so that you can use an IR remote from an earlier LG projector if you'd like, or one of the many multi device remotes like the Logitech Harmony ones. I find myself using the ir remote that came with my LG 75u instead of the magic remote that came with the 1500. They both work fine, but I just prefer the IR one, probably because I got so used to it with my previous projector and I can use it in the dark just by feel. Update 12/15/2017: The PF1500 has over 2500 hours on it now and I'm still loving it. It's never given me any problems, and the picture quality remains bright, vivid and sharp.

UPDATED: Fantastic Projector, Input Lag Is A Question Mark
Regrettably, I had to return this projector. I have been waiting SO long for a 1080p LED projector with a nice clear picture and sufficient lumen output. I started by trying out the Optoma ML 500 a few years ago, but the picture had a "soft" appearance. I thought this was the one, and it was in so many ways, but it has a fatal flaw. This projector has great reviews and amazing features. When I got it out and set it up, I was extremely pleased. Sharp, beautiful image. Impressive lumen output for an LED projector. Long lasting LED bulb. Lightweight. Portable. Even a TV tuner! Amazing. ...and then I tried gaming on it. I'm saying this as someone who has never noticed input lag on any TV or projector that I've owned. I'm not picky or hypersensitive. It was unplayable. Yes, I had it in game mode, which, according to Projector Central, reduces the input lag on this projector to 70 ms. I'm not sure what 70 ms looks like, but if this was 70 ms, I'm going to have to look for 20-30 ms response time MAX. I tried playing Borderlands 2 through my laptop's HDMI connection, and I simply couldn't play the game well because the input lag was so extreme. I would have to try to predict where I'd want the reticule in the next second because it would take seemingly a quarter of a second to actually move where I wanted it. I'd look at my laptop screen, which was being mirrored, and everything was responsive. It wasn't just the game. It noticeably lagged just using the mouse. There was some judder in panning sequences while watching a movie. TV was great though. I didn't notice any issues there. It was smooth, crisp, and clear on over the air HD channels. I think this is the nature of a breakthrough product, and I hate to give it two stars, but for all the groundbreaking features of this projector, it's unacceptable to perform this poorly in such an important area (to me). I'm going to have to wait until the next generation. My planned use for this was 50% gaming and 50% movies/TV, so I had to send it back. If you don't plan on gaming, you might consider this. UPDATE 10/15/15 REVISED: 2 stars to 4 stars I can't say the input lag is as bad as I thought it was. It seems that my Macbook Pro's HDMI connection is what lags, as it does the same thing on my new TV. It also did so wirelessly to my TV through an Apple TV box. So while I suspect this projector has some lag issues due to the tests at projector central (170 ms lag), I imagine it's not nearly as bad as I thought it was. It's too bad I don't have it to test with my PS4. If I knew then what I know now, I don't think I would have returned this.
