Fairly enjoyable read
This was a fairly good book which was enjoyable to read and I finished it within two or three days. The characters were pleasant but not phenomenally deeply developed and their hang-ups, and the romance between them, were the key topics of the book, rather than the detective story.A little forced, without completely grabbing the reader but well worth reading nevertheless and a fairly solid 4 stars.

An interesting and enjoyable story
I really liked this story, it was interesting and enjoyable with well written characters. It made a very pleasant change from the usual lesbian love stories that I normally read.

A good cop read
This took me a little while to get in to, but I think that was because I'd been reading a lot of a different author so my brain had to do a style shift. Once I got into the swing of it, I enjoyed the investigative side of the story and also the slow burn start to Kelsey (a forensic investigator) and Zara's (a patrol cop hoping to make it to Marc detective), relationship. Their openness with each other was refreshing despite Kelsey's unconscious self sabotage at times. The intimate scenes didn't feel mechanical at all like sometimes happens, and I could feel the characters emotions. This was an easy read that I got through in a free afternoon. There was a sneak peek at the next book in the series at the end of this one and it sounded like a good continuation, so I'll most likely keep reading.

Brilliant
I like the fact one of the main characters Kelsey had a more plump body than you would usually read about in lesbian romance. Enjoyed reading Zara and Kelsey. Recommend this book. Thank you

Excellent (as always)
You can never go wrong with a Cara Malone book! This book is a change with a “murder” and two lovely lady characters dealing with their own weaknesses but are stronger together. You can tell how much research has gone into this book and this has been done well giving an insight into Forensics in USA.

Mind Games is a fabulous opener to what is sure to be another sensational Cara Malone series!
Kelsey Granger, a rookie forensic investigator for the Fox County Coroner’s Office, meets Officer Zara Hayes on her first solo death scene. Initially it appears a woman has taken her own life but as Kelsey & Zara investigate the case all is not as it first appears.Cara Malone’s ever imaginative mind takes us to Fox County where an array of characters make up her latest crime based series. Kelsey and Zara grow close as they each work towards finding out who is playing ‘mind games’ in connection to the woman’s death but first they must both overcome their own personal demons in order that they can open their hearts to love.A sexy, romantic & entertaining book – Mind Games is a fabulous opener to what is sure to be another sensational Cara Malone series!

Insightful Police Procedural
I really enjoyed the way this book unfolded. The main characters were nuanced, and I was cheering for them the entire book. I learned more about the role of the medical examiner's job in a homicide. It has been a while since I've read a romance police procedural. Bonus: This is book one of a series! I'm looking forward to seeing these characters again.

Sorta feel good, enjoyable reading
It was a good reading, the crime solving was riveting and adding the 3rd POV was a nice thing, kept the "mystery" going. But man! that sh*t got me p*ssed ngl, when things got unfolded I was fuming with the culprit/s. For me this is a sorta feel good story, but this got me sad for a moment. The romance aspect didn't make that much of a impression as a whole. The MCs, I loved them individually, but as a couple something fell short, I mean THEY WORKED, but I needed something more to be completely sold. That said, I loved that it didn't have much useless drama with unnecessary feeling's denial. They liked each other and went for it, no nonsense and I loved it.But IMHO, I think their chemistry would've translated better if this was more of a visual piece, because most of their interaction in the first 2/3 of the book were work related so a lot of their interest probably would've shown better with physical cues rather than the descriptive ones. So much so that when they dropped that 3 little words I was like "how? when? isn't it too soon?" And I mean irl I usually think it takes a bit of time for that, but depending on how stuff are written, a 24h ILY is as believable as a months old one; ask Radclyffe and Meghan O'Brien, they make a day of emotions feel like a year, ergo quite believable.Anyway, even though I took the time to say this not so positive observation, the story was good and a page turning nonetheless. I really wanted to know how the crime would end and how they'd deal with Jordan, my gods she was exasperating!!!!!!!!!! Besides of course witnessing the consolidation of happy ending.

Couldn't be better
I love the new forensic setting for this story, it adds a great dynamic to the writing style of the author. Kelsey and Zara make for well rounded narrators and seeing their development throughout the telling left me unable to put it down. Thank you again for another great read.

the character list is relatively short, but the storyline is excellent
A who dunit mystery with twists. You may think you solved it within the first few chapters, but don’t put this down until the end. You may be wrong. This is the first of a series and will set the stage for more great storylines to come.

Difficult pasts don’t stop your future
In another Fox County tale, love unexpectedly blooms in the most difficult of circumstances. I love how the characters have complex personal issues to deal with whilst handling the complex and multifaceted issues surrounding murder cases. This is part of a series but can be read as a stand-alone.
