Opinel OP11040 N4 Beechwood Carbon

Closed length is 2 5/8". Handle is lightly varnished Beechwood. Carbon steel blade is 2" long x 7/16" wide x .030 thick. Blade has nicely ground finish, it has a mild convex or appleseed, not flat, grind to the cutting edge, no bevels. Not real sharp but will suit most people, I sharpend mine to shaving sharp. This is a friction folding knife, mine has an easy pull without being so easy as to flop open. Blade locks are only on sizes 6-13 so be carefull.This is my second Opinel, the other is a #6. The 6 is, size wise, similar to a medium stockman, while the 4 is similar in size to a Case or Rough Rider Peanut(see photos). This knife fits well in the watch pocket of my jeans and hardly noticeable by me. The blade is pretty thin making it a good slicer and usefull for many small tasks. The Opinel is a nicely finished classic worth having.

Small knife, easy to pocket. Very good steel blade that takes and holds an edge well. I like it! People who think it is too small need to realize what it is, and what it is for, before buying. This small knife is great for opening letters, opening boxes, and cutting cardboard boxes and box lids; things I do often. The blade is thin, which helps it to cut cardboard more easily than thicker blades.

I love the style and looks of these knives however I find anything under a no.6 is not practical for use but they look great in the display case.

Very big disappointment have seen children's toys made with better quality

Really a design classic.......and sharp to boot.

Das Messer ist viel zu teuer. Es ist nicht ergonomisch, liegt aufgrund der winzigen Größe nicht gut in der Hand. Ich wollte es sofort zurück schicken. DieseOption hat man mir trotz der gesetzlichen Gr undlage aus dem Fernabsatzgesetz nicht gegeben. Würde ich nie wieder bei dem Händler was kaufen.
