Ever-awesome!
When I first listened to this album, I was kind of on the fence and wasn't immediately moved. Though I've been a Guster fan since 2001, I put this on the proverbial shelf and didn't give it a second listen until after seeing them live in Ithaca in November of 2015. (My third Guster show if you're keeping track.)After seeing several of these tracks performed live I developed a whole new appreciation of the album. While my first listen gave me an impression that it was a wholly new sound for the band, I realized after several listens that this is just sort of an "evolution" of their sound (sorry for the cliche. It had to be said.)As an album itself, it's a treat and a gem. When enjoyed as a part of an uber-Guster playlist compendium, it's even more enjoyable and shows how the sound dovetails from one album to the next.

Great music, but different than past albums
Great music. I have almost all of their albums. This is a little bit different than their past albums, but I still like it. Its a little different, so listen to the samples before buying. It's an evolution of the artist, and its not as unique a sound as the older Guster music. However, I still like it.

Guster's Finest Hour?
Guster is back!! with a beautiful, luminous new record that proves they are still masters of pop craft and pure melody. This record pulls off the rare feat of being instantly like-able and a grower as well. The sweet (not overly slick) production prove these guys have some great tricks up their sleeve, and still know how to make a great pop record. As much as I liked their last record 'Easy Wonderful', it sounded like they were trying to be something they're not. 'Evermotion' presents Guster as a fully mature band exploring adult themes, while settling into some swinging grooves, and classic guitar melodies (check out the sweet Rickenbacker sound on 'Lazy Love'). Time will tell, but I feel this record will rank near the top of Guster releases for me.I didn't have any vinyl from Guster in my collection, so I decided to get this one. I'm glad I did. The pressing (180 gram) is very nice, quiet, flat, and clean; everything you'd want from vinyl, and sounds soooo sweet. Highly recommeded!

Their best and most immediately likable album
Their best and most immediately likable album...If you're a more mature music collector like myself, you'll appreciate the influences that must have effected the compositions if this remarkable group. A pleasant reminder that music can be something better than most of stuff you hear on the radio...and can actually have melody and lyrics that aren't trite.

It's Really Just Okay
It would be too harsh to call this album boring, because it's not--it's just not interesting. With a few exceptions, many of the songs are really slow and uninteresting. It could be Guster's weakest album, in my opinion. Not bad, just not amazing.1. Long Night: This is one of the better songs on the album. It begins the album nicely and has some nice guitar-sliding throughout. (9/10)2. Endlessly: Here's another favorite of mine. It begins off slowly and gets faster later on. It's also pretty melodic, which is another thing I Iiked. (9/10)3. Doin' it by Myself: Interesting. This one is also pretty melodic. (8/10)4. Lazy Love: Unique vocal patterns, nothing more. (8.5/10)5. Simple Machine: If you couldn't already tell, this is the main hit from the album. It's a fast-paced song with minimal (but great) lyrics and some computer sound effects that always make me smile. This is the best song on the album, and I'm just disappointed there aren't any other songs on the album like this. (10/10)6. Expectation: Meh. (6/10)7. Gang-Way: This is probably my second-favorite track. It has great guitar, great vocals, and a distinctive country feel to it. (9/10)8. Kid Dreams: There is really nothing special about this track. It's just boring. It might take time to grow on me, but I don't know. (4/10)9. Never Coming Down: It provides an interesting feel to it. It has a simple, light sound that seems relaxing and fun at the same time. This will (or should) make you feel like a kid again... unless you still are one. (8/10)10. It is Just What it is: While it might sound generic at first, this will eventually turn into a much better track. It has somewhat of a surf-rock feel to it, it's kind of hard to describe. The vocals are also nice to hear, so there's that. My favorite part has to be the instrumental breakdown somewhere at the middle (so scary!). (9/10)11. Farewell: A decent closer. By this point I was starting to get bored of the album, but it closes it nicely. There are also good vocals. (7/10)So, Evermotion: Hit or miss? I'd have to say somewhere inbetween.

Possibly There Best Effort to Date
This is a great new CD from them and I think possibly there best to date. With the exception of one CD I won't name. But clearly they getting more serious all the time. The CD 1st track is just something great with the rest to follow.

There is a twilight, a nighttime and a dawn and she makes me nervous
Looking for a fun upbeat CD? You found it. Once to pop you will suddenly wake to find yourself wondering how you got to this concert where the lead singer is suddenly in the audience drinking your beer or sitting in your lap all the while there's this crazy thunder God drumming away while the vampire on the left welcomes you to the farm..
