A review from a daily pro
Lets settle all of the crazy reviews. If you are a professional and need a portable white background this is perfect. You will be shooting two stops brighter for the background so it will be pure white. If you are a "natural light photographer" then you will see the background details, you will not have a pure white and leave a bad review. No it isn't as bright as paper or vinyl but if you know what you are doing and you want a pure white you can easily achieve it with any lighting. Mine wasn't warped but if it was I would not care because this is a background only and doesn't go onto the floor like a muslin. A warp isn't going to change anything because you are shooting straight on and if you are using a lens with compression like a 50 or higher then who cares! It will not show in the photo, especially since there is no pattern. Mine was wrinkled and the material is almost like spandex or thick pantyhose and it stretches right out. But again if it were wrinkled it doesn't matter if you shoot correctly. Use lights on the white side, use no lights on the black side and you have nothing to worry about. As for the comments that you can see through it: Learn to light! You are exposing for natural light so of course you will see light through it, it is thin. Raise your shutter speed and/or aperture and expose for your studio lights, not for your ambient light. Learn how to fold it, it is easy once you get the hang of it. This is a great product and I see not reason to spend more than I did on this one. It is equal to my higher end collapsible backdrops, I wouldn't be surprised if they put different names on the same stuff. It is way better than carrying a background system and a roll of vinyl or paper. If you need the floor to be white, you need vinyl or paper. If you are doing business portraits then this is a no brainer, one clamp and one light stand and you are good to go. Look at my photo and where I had to recently use it. This is a realtors home that was hit by a tornado. He wanted a business portrait and photos of his home. I set this up in the middle of a mess and it worked flawlessly. I didnt have to carry a background system and paper/vinyl.

Nice additionn
The material is a thin cotton blend. It has some wrinkles but it isn't a deal breaker. If you are a busy portrait photographer, you may be better off to get the higher priced backgrounds (although they may be the same material...I don't know). It's a great value and is a nice background to have. I don't regret buying it at all.

Be careful of the size... Mine is NOT 5x7
I was expecting a lightweight, sheer cloth surrounding a metal frame, which is what I got. It is relatively simple to fold -- bear in mind that this is not a small backdrop, so there will be some effort to start the initial fold, but once it starts, it is simple to follow thru... Regarding durability: If you want this to last, be gentle with it -- the material is pretty thin, and manhandling could take its toll on the material... I assume this could last a long time with care.My complaint is that they advertised a 5x7 and I got a 5x6.5 backdrop. It even says 150200 which is the size in centimeters on the outside of the bag in which it stores. I didn't bother to complain because I needed it right away and I could make do... The price was reasonable even at 6 inches off...If you really need 5x7, be sure that is what they are going to send you...

Great backdrop...tricky to fold until you learn the 'taco' method
Have used these 5x7' folding backdrops for years. The only difficulty is learning how to refold. Check youtube for a great video showing how to first taco-fold the backdrop, and then bring in the sides with a twist. The only downside was USPS...wow can they mess up. Missed the Sunday delivery claiming our neighborhood was closed due to construction...NOPE. The next business day, they reported they delivered to front door....NOPE. Misdelivered somewhere. After calling Post Office, they got the driver to find it and deliver to me....LOL...happy ending.

Works well for me!
I’m a hobbyist photographer that doesn’t need anything super amazing for a background. This works perfectly! It’s a great size, once you figure out how to fold it you can do it quickly and easily, and it’s really portable. I usually prop it against a chair in my living room and go to town. The white side is a little sheer, so the black does come through just a tad, but that’s not a huge problem for me.

Ordered two. Both arrived dirty. Also not 5x7.
The white sides of both of the backdrops I ordered had dirt and discoloration on them. The material is very cheap. Even the carrying case is very cheap material. This version is much harder to fold due to the low quality steel inside as well. Definitely not worth it, even at bargain prices.

Not Quite What I Was Looking For
First of all, when they say that you can pop this backdrop back into a circle and put it back in the bag, they lie!!! I have watched all the YouTube videos, tried the long side, the short side, cursing, crying, throwing it across the room and the dang thing just won't fold up! Be prepared that, once you open this up, you won't ever be able to put it away again!!!Secondly, the "white" side is a heathered, cottony fabric. It works okay as a plain white backdrop if you are planning on using an app after you take the picture to white out or remove the background, but I was looking for a backdrop that would show up as matte white in my pictures. This backdrop still requires me to edit my pictures and I was hoping for a more plug and play white backdrop.Thirdly, forget the lint roller! This backdrop is the best collector of dirt, dust, hair and anything else floating through the air that you could possibly have!!! I feel like I am always using a roller or a vacuum to remove things from the backdrop (both black and white sides) before I use it. It cleans up pretty easily, but, since I can't fold it up to put it back in the bag, I feel like my backdrop is always getting dirty. All in all, this backdrop is a fair value and I like the size when I am using it as I can do a full-length body shot in front of it, I just wish I knew the fabric before I purchased it :( And that I wouldn't ever be able to fold it again LOL!
