Exact fit for Trane XE1000
So I'll admit my AC unit gets a little neglect...It's from 2002 and I have really never done any maintenance since it was installed. Living in Wisconsin , air is only used a few months a year , so I was very upset last week when I came home from fishing and my house was over 80 inside , even though the AC fan was running...Then I heard an occasion hum that lasted a few seconds ..My initial thought was oh boy... I don't think the compressor is running...A little google research told me to check the capacitor...After taking the service panel off , I saw the worst capacitor I've ever seen ..Bulged out on top and leaking ...I crossed my fingers and decided on this capacitor as it is identical in specs and size as the factory OEM...It arrived in a couple days and I eagerly installed it ..,I then went into the house and turned the AC on . My old Trane AC is running like new again ...Great product and I hope it lasts as long as the original ! Remember , Capacitors store a dangerous amount of electricity . .Follow ALL safety precautions or get a professional to install it for you. Great product and very fast shipping... I am very satisfied with this purchase . Notice the Bulged top on my old capacitor , this is a sure sign your capacitor is bad ...

Received What I Ordered - Working As Expected
As the subject line says, I received exactly what I ordered and was expecting. The only difference was that instead of label showing Gentech (the old brand name), it was labelled as coming from Capcom (the new brand name – see below for details). Furthermore, it was "assembled" in Mexico, the headquarters of Capcom (not a big deal to me). The dimensions of the new capacitor were exactly that of the old, and it was a snap to replace; I did not have to modify the retaining strap. I would recommend anyone doing this repair themselves, take photos of the wiring connections, and note which wire goes to which connector (attached picture was verified by my HVAC technician for my Trane HVAC PRIOR to replacement). This capacitor replaced a "weak" one (it had not completely failed yet). It has been working for a couple of weeks now without issues. I will update this review if anything changes. Both new and old capacitors had a yellow dot on the top of the can, indicating their capacitances were above specifications; when I checked with my multimeter, they measured as follows:- Old: 39.6 uF (H) / 4.99 uF (F) <-- Bad!- New: 45.8 uF (H) / 5.18 uF (F) <-- Great! The old cap's Herm side was 12 below spec. The new cap's measurements were slightly above spec, but within tolerance (H: +1.8%, F: +3.6%) (definitely deserved the yellow dot!).FWIW, I bought this replacement capacitor from the Amazon partner, AirstarSupply. It arrived within the time frame specified. As mentioned before, it was exactly what I ordered; no games were played by this reseller. The cost was reasonable and significantly less than what the HVAC technician was going to charge (he was the one recommending I replace it myself). Now for the naysayers about the legitimacy of capacitors coming from Capcom. I've been doing the research, and here is what I found:- In 2004, Regal Beloit bought GE's Commercial and HVACR Motors and Capacitors businesses, allowing them to use the GE brand through 2009. (Sources: Wikipedia & ACHRNews)- In 2009, Regal Beloit rebranded all their former GE products to Gentech. (Sources: Wikipedia & ACHRNews)- In 2019, Nueva Generacion Manufacturas (NGM) of Mexico acquired Regal Beloit's capacitor business; Capcom (Mexico) is part of the NGM Group and had been the business that built capacitors. (Source: Announcement on Capcom.mx site)Do not confuse Capcom of Mexico (part of NGM Group) with the same named video-game company in Japan.Bottom line, I would highly recommend this Gentech/Capcom 97F9851 capacitor from AirstarSupply.
