ProPlugger 5-IN-1 Planting Tool: Long Handled Bulb Planter and Flower Planter

I don't often write reviews for things I buy from Amazon, usually they are fit for purpose and that is all they need to be but I am taking time to write a few words about the Pro Plugger. I planned a major bulb planting project for this Autumn. I am going for the "Full Field of Gold" trip for springtime. I knew I would need a serious tool for planting as other planters are either too flimsy or not easy to work with plus I wasn't looking forward to being down on my knees with a small hand plugger. Then I saw this tool, the reviews are good and the tool looks simple to use and seems to be effective. I bought it and began my project last weekend, I have flown through the work using the Pro Plugger, the pictures show the effects and results. The Pro plugger is solidly made and as some reviews mention heavy but that is part of its effectiveness, all you are doing is placing it pushing it down with your foot and twist/pulling it back out you only feel the weight in the last step but with the results you get it is a small price to pay. Others mention that the plugs aren't formed when they leave the tube, I would suggest that the soil you are planting in is cultivated and you don't need this for that kind of planting, my plugs are perfect as the picture shows, easily taken out and pushed back in. Lastly somebody mentioned that the end got damaged when pushed into the ground, yep, mine has sharpened up after successive use and improves the tools performance. The height of the took is just right, I am 6' 2" and I find it just comfortable, no back braking bending to get the bulbs in. This is a good piece of gardening engineering. I hope whoever came up with this is making lots of money from it and possible get an award for a simple thing well made. I write this review because this is a thing worthy of mention, this and no more. This part is an addendum. The last picture shows the tool after planting 4700 daffodil bulbs in my front garden. It has lost the nice paint job but is still one hundred percent effective.

Got this as I wanted to plant a huge bed of daffodil bulbs in my lawn and the reviews suggested it would be the ideal tool - and it was. Honestly, such a useful thing! I planted 160 bulbs in no time (and with much less effort than it would have been). Well worth the money. Feels quite heavy duty. Going to need to plant more bulbs to use it again!

This is a lot of FUN! I had a blast using this tool. The only issues I encountered were tree roots underground hindering my progress. The tool works fast and efficiently when the soil is clear, with a bit of coaxing and twisting it can break through roots also. The plugs gather up conveniently in the frame, and even when it's completely full it feels light and easy to use. It is very ergonomic and I was able to use it for a prolonged period without needing to take a break. It is very lightweight and in spite of this, packs an incredible punch. Highly recommend using one of these for bulb planting than digging them manually or using a hand tool. The job is done without pain and it is incredibly satisfying to use!

Anyone who has a large number of bulbs to plant and little time to do it is going to need help. There appear to be plenty of gadgets out on the market. I found this one recommended on a gardening website but it was watching the promotional video that made decide to risk my cash. My order arrived a day or so late but not to worry. The item itself appears to be pretty sturdy. Only time will tell if it lasts. My concern is that the weld between tube and footrest will be strong enough to deal with tough comapcted soil.So far I have used it once and really is as quick and easy to use as the video suggested. My soil has quite a lot of clay. As the plugs built up inside the tube the first to go in rose to the top and you just pop it back into the hole. So, slightly amazed but pleased with this purchase.

This plugger as other reviews have stated is a bit pricey but was unable to find it cheaper so went with Amazon. Fast deliver and well packed . It works as shown in video, easy to use and empties well. It's well made and sturdy and having used it a few times after it arrived can verify it works very well. Currently use it on my lawn to re turf dog urine spots , first impression hides the yellow stains but will have to wait to see how the transplanted circles re grown. Very pleased with purchase.

This is brilliant. Much much better than the long-handled alternative by Burgon & Ball. Sharp edges for easy penetration plus long tube means you can get up to a dozen plugs before stopping to tip them out. Planted 250 camassias in grass in an hour and a half. Robust and clever - you get two rings to fit on the cutting funnel which means you can have exact hole depths of 2", 4" and 6".

Awesome bulb planting tool. I used it to plant 600 bulbs. It saved my back, And just as long as you go to the same depth every plug you can relace the plug in any hole you've done. Like all of these tools trying to use it on dry ground can be next to impossible.

I have a long handled bulb planter that I was struggling with because it isn't all that sharp. A friend showed me this one and I had to get one myself. A lot less effort and not so tiring even when planting dozens of bulbs as part of a community volunteer scheme.

Have already used this as soon as it arrived and it's great. Well made and does exactly what I need it to.

A parte la soddisfazione nell'usarlo, è proprio utile, soprattutto se si hanno delle zone nascoste dove poter prendere zolle buone da trapiantare. Molto utile per rattoppare le bruciature della pipì del cane

Heut is nun der "günstige" Plugger zum Unkrautstechen gekommen. Und ich muss sagen, ich bin mehr als zufrieden damit. Also wer so nen Ding braucht und so wie ich hier und da Löwenzahn im Rasen hat, kann bedenkenlos zugreifen.

Sirve tanto para replantar cesped/tomillo silvestre,etc., como para eliminar malas hierbas desde su raiz. El huerto tambien es ideal para colocar los nuevos plantones de lechuga,coles,tomates,etc.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Amazing Tool for Zoysia Plugging I wish I had bought this sooner. I used it today to transplant about 35 Zoysia plugs, and the entire job took roughly 25 minutes. The tool cut clean plugs with very little effort and made it easy to move grass from thick areas to thin spots in my yard. The plugs came out intact with a solid root ball, and the receiving holes were the perfect size. Honestly, the most time-consuming part was going back and filling the holes afterward. My Zoysia lawn is about a year old, and this tool worked flawlessly. If you’re trying to repair bare spots, spread your lawn, or transplant plugs without renting expensive equipment, this thing is worth every penny. Simple, sturdy, and it just works. Highly recommended.
