Review: I'm in TROUBLE!!! - I was immediately in love with the title of this book! TROUBLE! That, right there, tells me all I need to know. Am I right? So I check out the blurb. Aaaannd I'm hooked! She's running scared - He's a tattooed bad-boy! What's left but to dive straight in and it was way beyond my initial simplistic thoughts!! 5 incredible ***** from 'the Trouble fan'!!! This is a full-length, stand-alone, New Adult novel with an HEA. There is no cheating in this book. Blurb: "Mia Monroe is running. Running from a person she doesn’t ever want to find her. Running from a past she doesn’t ever want anyone to know. Desperate to find a future, that yesterday, she could only dream of having. Jordan Matthews likes easy. Easy women. Easy life. Yet, Mia finds herself falling for him. Then the past Mia was running from, quickly starts to catch up with her. Because that’s the problem with running … you have to stop sometime. And when you stop, you get caught." I want to start with a few housekeeping issues for this book. Trouble is an amazing read! But there are scenes of physical and emotional abuse as well as an eating disorder so tread carefully if any of these are triggers. I despise spoilers so feel free to continue on with the review as I will be vague with what actually happens in the book. On a happy note - this book is written in dual POV! Yay me!! (I'm just sure Samantha Towle wrote Jordan's POV just for me as she know how excited I get!!) OK. Let's get on with it!! First, and most importantly, this book has the coolest dog EVER!! Dozer! He befriends Mia and they have the best time hanging out! He's also responsible for bringing Mia and Jordan together. One might say it was fate...I say it was an amazing author!!! Mia was a great character to spend time with. She was made to feel weak by everyone around her. But the thing is she isn't weak at all. I wanted to shake my kindle, and did on a few occasions, and yell at her and say "Just tell him off! Tell him he's a ...crappy person!!!" Mia's desperate to be loved by someone - anyone. Although, from her experience, she's can imagine it would be harder to matter. "It's easy to be worthless to someone, but to matter to someone ... well, I think that would be harder." In the first few pages, I'm confused but quickly caught up with Mia's situation. I feel sad for her, angry at them, frustrated at her, even angry at her. I am just swarmed with all these immediate emotions of desperation for her to... I'm not even sure what it was I wanted/needed for her to accomplish at that point. I just know I absolutely couldn't put this book down!! When Mia meets Jordan - I'm as enthralled as she is I think. He's normal bad-boy material. Curses in his head like a sailor. And his internal banter makes me smile, sometimes giggle even. (yes I admitted Jordan made me giggle-call the authorities!) Jordan has witnessed things in his life that he's rather not be a part of - hence his single status. "When it comes to women, I put my di#* in and keep my heart out. It's the easiest way." Doesn't that line just make you ladies swoon?! HA! What a crap-muncher!! He's jaded from life and clearly, hadn't met Mia yet. My heart does break a little for him for some reason in those beginning scenes of him acting that way, talking of his past and why he feels he has to act like an a&%. I could feel an internal struggle going on with him almost as if that's not who he really is. But even he isn't sure who that person is just yet. It all hooked me!! Mia begins staying at Jordan's family's bed and breakfast/hotel and begin spending more and more time together. It really goes without saying that Jordan has major hots for Mia and vice versa. The steam coming from my kindle was ridiculous. But a good ridiculous!! Their chemistry was off the charts! It was tangible as if I could reach into the pages and touch it. And not just physically - but emotionally too!! Even more emotionally, I think. It brings a smile to my face just writing this... I loved watching it all blossom - I always love watching it unfold - but this was different somehow. And even now I'm not sure why. Mia was amazed that he saw her as an equal. That Jordan had offered to help her with a 'problem' she had. "No one has ever offered help like that to me before. And for help to come from a man makes if even more astounding, and poignant." Mia begins to trust him and he doesn't take it lightly. Jordan knows this is all super hard for her. He truly wants to take care of her. But it's not that alpha-male, cave-man crap. It's the deep-seated emotional connection type I want to take care of you because I NEED to take care of you. "I know I'm &%#*^#. She has me now. If there were ever a chance of me going back after this one taste of her, it's gone. I'm gone for her." This book has good parts, great parts, amazing parts, parts where you will want to gouge the characters eyes out, and part that will make you tearful. (I cried like a baby.) It's the story of two amazing characters who find out they are more that they thought. They only realize this with each other. The very cool thing about this book is that similar stories are frequently played out in real life!! See this review and others at my blog The Sassy Bookista!! Review: A great new adult novel that readers should read! - Trouble is a standalone novel that tackles abuse inflicted by others as well as self-harm. Mia Monroe experienced dealing with cold-hearted, physically and emotionally abusive people throughout her life. It wasn't until a frightening happening that she decided to run away from her past. Mia Monroe is a very sweet, kind and likeable character. She always tried her best which is why I think she grew the most in the entire book. She has been through the most difficult and painful situations but she still survives. Not only was she abused, she is also bulimic. She is still fighting an ongoing battle and I admire her strength. I feel for her. We get to meet Mia's love interest when she goes to stay at Golden Oaks for two weeks. Jordan Matthews comes across as a jerk when we are first introduced to him. I think we needed the dual POVs because we could really see how good of a person he truly is when he takes care of those he loves. The main plot of the book is about their relationship and the struggles they had to face personally and as a couple. I really liked how there were no unnecessary drama. There was no cheating involved. Both characters were very loyal towards each other. It didn't matter that Jordan slept with a ton of girls in the past because he remained faithful to Mia when their relationship progressed. I also liked how patient and understanding Jordan was towards Mia's situation. Another character I really liked was Jordan's pet, Dozer. I smiled whenever he appeared and I really enjoyed reading the book when the main characters interact with him. I think the story buildup to the climax was a little lacking. Forbes has always been a threat since he was Mia's ex-boyfriend and doesn't accept their breakup. I felt like he should have appeared a few more times in the book. Other than that, I didn't like the lack of communication when Jordan found out the truth about Mia's mother because even Mia commented on his mistake. For the most part, I really enjoyed the book. I loved the characters and their relationship with one another. The storyline was done really well and it even got my heart pumping. An impressive new adult story that you should read!

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Fell In Love
*by A***G on December 2, 2013*

5 Shiny Stars! "It's easy to be worthless to someone, but to matter to someone...well, I think that would be harder." ~ Mia ~ I adore Samantha Towle, I adored the Mighty Storm and Wethering the Storm. If you are picking this one up thinking it will be like these books, be warned this one is very different. Sure you have the smokin' hot, sexy main characters, but this is were the similarities end. We begin this book is a very strange and dark place. Mia has just lost her only parent, heart attack. Devastating right? Nope this is a reason to truly celebrate, in Mia's unfortunate case. You see Mia has been keeping secrets and hiding her pain away since before she can remember. On the surface Mia is a beautiful, intelligent, well mannered young woman. She is attending Harvard and is working towards becoming a doctor, first year pre-med to be exact. But looks can be deceiving. Mia is in a very bad place both emotionally and physically. When her father passes away, Mia is forced to face the truth. Even though she has a boyfriend Forbes, (don't even get me started on this guy), she is truly alone in this world. A startling revelation, turns her world upside down, and her journey begins anew. Mia finds the strength within, to break free. Finally willing and able to break the cycle that has crippled her, her entire life. "I do believe that everyone has a pain and a coping ability that is individual to them, and if you want to feel sorry for yourself because of the hand life dealt you, then that's your god given right - I won't judge you for that." ~ Mia ~ Enter Jordan (Tattooed Adonis). This man, Holy Hot Batman! Bad boy, sexier then sin, mad skills in the bedroom, covered in tats. Everything a woman could ever want and need right? Well only if you are into being short term. Jordan is a love' em and leave' em type of guy. "When it comes to women, I put my dick in and keep my heart out. It's the easiest way." ~ Jordan ~ He has never in his entire life been in a relationship, never even been on a date. When he meets Mia, everything he thinks he knows about himself, and love begins to shift. "Sometimes that's all it takes. Just one person to turn everything on its head. Remind you of the person you were" ~ Jordan ~ "I love you, Mia. Every part of you. The best and worst. The broken, the perfect. The bad, the good. You're it for me babe. I see only you." ~ Jordan~ OMG, swoon much here ladies?? The love story that unfolds in Trouble will melt your heart, make you swoon, make you cry. It is a story that will give you hope, that even though you are broken, you are not unfix-able. Trauma, and sickness can be overcome. Truly healing and moving forward is possible. Even the most terrifying nightmares can be forgotten. "Pain of the past never goes away, you just find a way to deal with it. And the future...all the promise it holds...that's what keeps you moving forward, and out of the darkness." ~ Mia ~ This book delves into some pretty heavy issues, abuse, eating disorders, rape, death, love, however Samantha Towle handled the subject matter beautifully. She balances the horrific with the beautiful. The abuse scenes are painful and difficult to read, but they truly touch you as a reader. Mia's pain and heartbreak were mine as well, and I found myself misty eyed more than once while reading Trouble. I found myself totally engrossed in this book. I love stories of redemption, love, and healing. I adore a story where you are rooting for the underdog, Mia was an underdog from page one. This book was a little bit of everything, but a whole lot of Beautiful. I will revisit this one again and again. I fell completely in love with Jordan, Mia, and Dozer. I cannot recommend this book enough. Trouble is beautiful, heart breaking, and fantastic.
