Good starter book to get the feel for reading rhythms
Good starter book to get the feel for reading rhythms. You only use one note so it's very specific in it's focus. If you are more interested in intervalic playing, scales, or working on reading melodies another book might be better. I imagine in this series they get to that. I'm just not at that level yet. I've been playing music professionally for 30 years using my ear but lately it seems more sheet music is being put in front of me so it was time to bite the bullet.

Easy for students to grasp
I am using this to help my student grasp counting better. She is working through it easily on her own, as it takes a slow pace to cement important concepts.

Perhaps not the best choice for self study
I gave this book three stars as I believe it is not a best choice for self study. With a good teacher or in a classroom I would give it five stars. That said, with hard work you can learn from it on your own. It would be quite a bit better for self study with some YouTubes.

Great introduction to rhythmic training
I use this book in piano studies to introduce rhythmic training. I have the student keep a pulse with the left hand on alternating roots and 5ths while the right hand articulates the written rhythm on a single note, scale, or arpeggio. The roles can then be reversed. The level of the book is just right for begining students.

Knowledge on beat counting is necessary
This is a very good book for learning rhythm, but you will need some prior knowledge on how to count beats. If you do not know how to subdivide beats it probably won't help you as the lessons progress. The simple "1" "e" "and" "aa" counting system will work for most of it.

The best I know of.
Never found a better book for learning rhythm.

A pathway to make my rhythm playing precise
Returning to music after playing intensively as a young musician… years later I’m now site reading, and finding weaknesses in my play. A book like this has already started to sharpen my reading and memorization of rhythms. I’ve also got the companion one to it and it’s already making me feel way more comfortable.

Chiaro e progressivo
Ottima introduzione alla lettura ritmica. Esercizi progressivi e spiegazioni chiare. Però non tanti esercizi per ogni argomento. Anche per autodidatti volenterosi.
