This heavy duty can crusher is different from most in that it can be mounted where ever you need it most. All you need is three screws for easy attachment. not included. Or use without mounting at all. As can be seen from the photo you can mount it horizontally or flat. You can even leave it loose on the kitchen counter. Or you can mount it vertically on the wall. What ever is most convenient for YOU. Remember to mount it so others can crush their cans as it keeps a place looking clean without you doing all the work. Plus Recycling pays you back! It works in ANY position. I show it mounted on a 2 x 12 laying on top of a barrel. Take it inside when you're done. It saves it from being weathered. This is easily mounted to a post on the porch, on a solid spot in the garage, in a closet, even on the tailgate of a pick up truck. Its just that adaptable! It measures 10" long by 7" wide and stands about 4" tall. When fully open it extends to about 17". It is built of space age super tough plastic for many years of faithful service. It only works on standard 12" American beverage cans. 16 ounce won't work. Review: Great product. Works as advertised. - My wife and I hated the idea of having to install one of the other popular can crushers on the wall of our kitchen and, frankly, dreaded even worse, the idea of having to go out the garage to crush all the cans that regularly collect on the kitchen counter top, next to the sink. This crusher is nice, in that it is completely portable, and can be stowed away when not in use. It does take a bit of a 'touch' to get the cans lined up well enough to 'pull-n'smash', but if you have an IQ in the neighborhood of triple digits or more? It's a piece of cake. Great product. Review: bad packaging - I received this product in a plain cardboard box. No lettering on the outside, just the packaging label. The can crusher was on the inside with no product info or directions. It looked like someone just put the opened product in a box and shipped it. I was disappointed because I thought it would at least come with manufacturer info. The crusher itself is hard to use. I never got directions so I am assuming I am using it right. The shipping took 1 and a half weeks which I thought was a long time. I am not impressed for the price I paid.

Sharp edges, dangerous after crushing
Creates very sharp edges to cans after being crushed. Would never have purchased had I known that. We threw it away.

Gets the job done.
Very sturdy. This just sits on our counter top and reduces our recycling trips in half.

I'd rather stomp cans
I'm a strict aluminum recycler, but I don't have a place to permanently mount a crusher, so I was excited to find this free-standing compact model. Unfortunately, it's just not very usable. Two big issues: 1. It requires more effort than you'd expect. It smashes cans from the side, rather than the top, in a two step process: Dent, then fold. It works a little better if you dent the can yourself while loading it, but even then, it takes a lot of pressure to get the can ends folded flat. If you have a large recycling bin, you won't mind. But if you have room for a large bin, you've probably got room for a sturdy wall-mounted can smasher. 2. It is ONLY good for bog-standard American 12oz cans. Tall tea or beer cans, and even variant 12oz soda cans, don't fit. Slim 10oz energy drink cans just slide out the back, vaguely dented. I don't buy the 90- or 100-calorie Coke cans, but it's clear that they wouldn't work either. I found myself smashing cans with my feet on the back porch again after a couple of weeks. Ugh, so boring, but less annoying than using the smasher. If I'd kept the packaging I probably would have returned it. To be fair, this is a good, well-made product. It's so solid that I feel bad turning in a negative review. However, it just doesn't suit the realities of my household, so I can't recommend it.

EZ Can Crusher
I bought this for my mom last year, because she is a big recycler. The thing works fantastically!! There is only one tiny thing that I would change about it....The hinge on one side starts sliding its way out after a few times of use. It's easy to wedge it back in, but it would just be better if we didn't have to do that :) Other than that, it is still used frequently!

Well constructed
This is the only affordable can crusher I could find that didn't have to be mounted on a wall to operate. It can be mounted if you'd prefer, however. It has held up well and seems quite durable.

can crusher
The can crusher works ok, if you are not careful you will pinch your fingers. It started to squeak after about 20 cans so I sprayed it with WD 40. It works alot better if you mount it to a piece of wood. It's kind of over priced.
