84143540 Alternator

After searching around local places for a 170 coupling alternator for my truck and nearly accepting the fact that I had to put forth the money for one, big brother popped up on Google and showed me this one! I'm very happy that it showed up because it's identical to the napa ones that are remanned, but this is brand new and much better on the cost side of things. I installed this in about 1.5 hours with minimal tools, it was very simple to do in my 14' silverado 1500. It was also 20 amps bigger than the stock one that died. I've been extremely happy with this, between pulling campers, 4 wheelers, trailers etc. I've never had a loss of power. This has been installed in my truck for about 4 months now and I have no complaints - it has held up awesome.

Waited 3 weeks before writing this review. Very pleased with the GM Genuine Parts 84143540 Alternator purchase. My truck was having issues with the audio not working sometimes and at low speeds the power steering being difficult. One morning when the truck wouldn't start, I pulled the battery and had it tested. Battery was fine so after they charged it, I brought the truck in to test the alternator and discovered it was outputting too much. Guessing the regulator inside the alternator had failed. My brother-in-law recommended getting the 170 amp version and sent me a link to this one. Installing the new alternator took about an hour and afterwards I was shocked at how much better the truck performed. It has more pep, responsiveness, and the intermittent audio issues went away. I 100% recommend this part and seller!!

Auto parts stores wanted twice the $ for alternator for my Burb, reman in most cases. This one is NEW and OEM, great value! Installed with new belt in about 20 minutes.

Installed this alternator 3 months ago and I have had zero issues. My truck runs great and the part was easy to install with a quick YouTube search. The value was great compared to the local auto part retailers.

POS didn't work had to do the work twice due to a defective item.

Is working perfectly is more strong than before

2017 GMC Yukon XL Denali 2WD 6.2L engine. 1. I was worried that the alternator would arrive rolling around in a box....Not the case. Excellent foam packaging around the entire alternator. 2. See pics below. The alternator pics with the shinny copper windings is the alternator I removed. The alternator with the blackened windings is the new one. Did not say rebuilt in the ad, but everything else looks new on it. 3. I put in a new battery a few days before installing the alternator. After motor is off for a few hours to let everything cool down, I read 12.7VDC across the battery (engine not running). 4. Start the motor, and turned on all accessories and lights, and read 13.8-14.7VDC across the battery (good). About one week after installing the new alternator, I see the meter is not at 14VDC, and put a meter on the battery and it reads 11.7 - 12.3VDC. After ten minutes it comes back up to 14VDC for a few minutes and then drops back down. So, I am not 100% certain this alternator is doing what is should be doing. Obviously I have rechecked all connections after testing, and retested with the same results. So, my review title of Verdict is Still Out is where I am currently at. I will check it out again tonight to see what readings I get. Thank you. Go Navy.

Es refacción original de GM y de hecho es una mejora con respecto al alternador que tenía instalado de fabrica, es ligeramente mas grande que el original y hay que desplazar un poco los bujes de los tornillos que están en la base soporte para que entre, aparte de eso no hay mayor inconveniente.

Installed on a 2009 Tahoe and work fine 170amp so much batter
