Pillowcases are not as described
The pillowcases are described here on Amazon as being made of 400 thread count Egyptian cotton percale. The pillowcases I received look the same but are labeled as being 250 thread count, 100% cotton satin stripe. Nowhere on the label does it mention Egyptian cotton or that it's percale, just made in Pakistan and that the cases are "satin stripe". Upon opening the package the cases do not feel like percale at all but instead feel like they're sateen. I know percale and these pillowcases are not it. True percale is crisp and sometimes crunchy. These cases feel silky smooth, exactly like sateen. I only buy percale as I'm a warm sleeper and percale is cool to sleep on while sateen is too warm. I returned the cases and notified Amazon that the items are being falsely advertised.

Possibly not quite what they claim
Not sure these are really Egyptian cotton. They do not say so on label, just "100% cotton" & made in Pakistan. Not particularly unhappy with these but it does raise questions. Usually Egyptian cotton has labels saying "Egyptian cotton."

Mediocre
The pillow cases are not as pictured. They have a a short two inch hem, material is thin, seams are crooked. I like percale, but I should have paid more attention. I ordered these about two years ago and I was unhappy with the quality. But, they're not as pictured so I didn't realize I was ordering the same thing. I will not be ordering again!

Ok But Does Not Compare to Target's Threshold Parcale Sheets
Edited Friday, November 6, 2020 -I have ordered these pillow cases two different times from Amazon, 7 months apart. There does seem to be a bit of inconsistency between the cases from those two orders. One set seems to be thicker and crinkly than the other. This is exactly what I like about percale sheets as they remind of the sheets from the old days. They stay cool in the hot months as well. But, one set it entirely different in that it is noticeably thinner fabric and has none of the crinkle factor as the other. I had thought they were two different brands until I checked the attached labels to be certain. Now, I have noticed this lack of consistency with many many products both popular name brands and unknown ones. This has been a serious problem for the past ten or so years as that is when I began to notice it more and more. I cannot remember one situation where that inconsistency resulted in a product being made better. It has always been the case where it was changed by using flimsier materials such as cheaper or thinner plastic, replacing metal enclosures with plastic, nobs and dials, etc. With that, usability decreased as well as longevity of the product. I wish I could say that this was rare and only occasionally, but this downward inconsistency seems to be the only consistent manifestation in product quality over all this time. And no, it is not only a problem with Amazon. It is across the board no matter where you purchase and item that is not easily examined due to packaging. I won't even go into the current practices of lessening food products by a few ounces yet keeping prices the same. I would think newer generations just getting into setting up their own households and buying groceries may not be aware of such thing, but for long time homemakers we do. I believe, the companies guilty of the practice count on this. So, yes I do like the way these sheets sometimes are heavier and crinkle like old style percale sheets but you will be playing a game of "maybe - maybe not", by ordering them.Original Review; These are ok. But they do not compare to Target's Percale sheets. They are a tad bit thinner and noticeably rougher. There is a difference between that old-fashioned crinkle type sheet that so many appreciate and rough material. Being that I've only had these a week and through one washing it remains to be seen what they will become as time goes on. I can only hope that they do not turn into a set a sheets I purchased some years ago that became so rough, they caused abrasions and redness. Should that happen I will edit this review.

Too rough, not soft AT ALL.
I love percole cotton, and I assumed these would feel the same as my percole sheets, but after two minutes of laying on these, my face was itchy AF. They feel like sandpaper.

New white pillow cases stained with brown liquid
I can’t say if the pillowcase were any good since they were dirty and stained when I got them. The zipper package was open and pillow case were stained with brown liquid. See picture, not good for new white pillow cases. Will rerun them.

Like sandpaper on my face.
I was really looking forward to getting cotton pillow cases for that crisp, smooth, fresh feel. The basic microfiber pillow cases get too hot. These pillow cases arrived and I washed them, (using Downey fabric softener) and put them on my pillows immediately. I laid down and the pillow cases are so rough, I feel like I exfoliated half my face. I had to take them off. I would say I just wasted my money, but luckily I have an old wooden table in the garage that needs to be sanded so I can just use these awful, gritty pillow cases to sand that down.

Lovely! They should last for the rest of my life.
I ordered two packages and they arrived yesterday. Today they're washed and dried. I love this fabric. Some people would call it stiff I think but I don't like bed linens with a lot of drape and a soft, soft hand. They are wrinkly because cotton wrinkles. If you can't abide wrinkles and want 100% cotton, plan on ironing them. If you can't abide wrinkles or ironing get something with synthetic fibers in it. If you want really silky smooth, don't buy these; they're not sateen which I detest. I expect at least 10 years use from these pillowcases, probably more like 20+. I use two pillows on a twin bed and the sheets sets come with one pillowcase is why I ordered these. I'd love it if the Pinzon sheets were the same fabric but the set I got has a smoother, softer feel. I almost certainly won't be buying of these lovely pillowcases more because I won't need them.
