Read This, Save Lives: A Teacher’s Guide to Creating Safer Classrooms for LGBTQ+ Students

I have relatives & friends who are LGBTQ+ so I was curious as to what the book recommended. I found it very interesting and relevant in today's classrooms.

Very real life experiences, combined with solid determination to make the world a better place, expressed so simply and eloquently by the author, provide tremendous insight into the varied spectrum of humanity, combined with helpful information to better understand people from various, diverse backgrounds.I would highly recommend this book to educators, allies, and anybody who would like to better understand and support LGBTQ+ communities.

I would like to see this book become required reading for all people who work with youth!! In this book, Sameer beautifully weaves in his own stories of bullying to help present the larger issue of LGBTQ+ acceptance in our society. Even if you believe that you do not work with LGBTQ+ youth, there is a great chance that you do. Everyone working with young people has the responsibility to help change the culture. "Read This, Save Lives" provides a great set of tools for adults to take the actions needed to create more safe and supportive spaces for LGBTQ+ youth. As the title states you can truly save lives by showing youth through your actions that they are supported and welcome to be who they are.

This is a wonderful book. The author is going places. All teachers should read this book and keep it close at hand to help them support all students. Parents will also benefit from reading Read This, Save Lives as they support their children on their journeys.
