Blue Bottle Club

This is a very good read, with a sweet ending. There is no bad language, and the author writes with compassion. However, the spelling and other mistakes in the Kindle edition really took away from the pleasure of reading this book. Amazon needs to update the Kindle edition to correct these many mistakes.

A great story with a strong message. I would recommend it to anyone who is searching for direction or questioning their purpose in life.

A group of friends lives change forever when the stock market crashes in the 1920's. the poor are fine, the rich girl is poorer, and religion and art are a calling for the others. They all go their seperate ways till 1 of their old homes is being renovated and the blue bottle the girls put heir life long dreams is found, A big city reporter who needs to find meaning in her own life searches the girls out to see what has become of them.Goes to tell you life is alot different at 60 then 13. But we do what we have to do and have to find happieness IN THAT, not in WHAT could of been,great read, a popular book club choice.

I would give The Blue Bottle Club 3.5 stars. The reading was easy, the writing was good and the story was interesting, but there was too much repetition in the themes via Brendan's constant inner turmoil. I know this was a "Christian" book, but there was entirely too much God and Savior in there. I did like that Ms. Stokes acknowledged "prayer" as including the time spent while doing something that glorifies God. Mine is gardening and walking the dog. I don't have any problems with God.............I have way too many problems with mortal men with their feet of clay (or worse!) thinking they can tell the rest of us how to live our lives with God. The history of all churches is filled with war, the subjugation of women and a constant accumulation of wealth.

A story of 4 women writing down their dreams and placing them in a blue bottle which was found by construction worker and given to a reporter who at 33 did not have a life with any dream and something about the story in the bottle made her determined to find the whole story and find out if these friends actually found their dreams!!!! Would recommend this book to teenagers, mothers, working women, bookclubs and any seniors.

The story in this book spans the dreams and aspirations of four women whose lives become interwoven . It takes a young reporternment with the current path that her life has taken, to seek out the truth and in doing so, change the course of her own life. A wonderful take with a spiritual twist as well!

I really enjoy this story. I had the book many years ago and lent it out only for it to get lost. It is a well written moving story

Spectacular writing with great characters keeps you reading. Following their lives which didn't go the way the girls had planned touched a note in me and has forced me to open my eyes.

Une très belle histoire qui vous rappelle qu''il ne sert à rien de vivre dans le passée, il faut croire en la vie, il faut croire en ses rêves, il faut croire en ce guide de l'au-delà qui guide nos pas en fin de compte!
