Flying Buffalo Nuclear War Card Game, 50th Anniversary Edition, Science Fiction

The game is fast, fun and easy to pick up.
The New Anniversary edition is an improvement overall in production of components, which was needed. Gameplay is essentially the same. Each player represents a generic unnamed world power with basically two options to eliminate the opposing player’s populations “Propaganda” to defect to your country or annihilation through “nuclear weapons” (Delivery System/Warheads). To win the game all you have to do is be the only player with a population. Propaganda becomes null and void until one players population is eliminated, then peace talks can resume & you can play propaganda cards again. The bomb effect spinner is a total wild card, sometimes extra population loss other times dud no effect. The game is fast, fun and easy to pick up. Having said that, anyone who had not grown up in the 1960’s through the 1980’s wouldn’t really appreciate the games overall subject matter and consider it a little dark and not politically correct. For those of us who appreciate the fictionalized aftermath of such heinous events as Nuclear War a.k.a. Mad Max, Fallout, Gamma World, etc. we find the game to be very enjoyable! (Even though, more often than not… everyone loses.)

A true 'Beer and Pretzels' game.
A very fun game from my teen years. It may not hold up to current 'game standards", however my friends really enjoyed the "Final Strike": mechanic. So if you are OK with a very loose and fun game about a very serious subject (Nuke War), it is fun.Production values of this edition are much better than my 1964 edition of the game. Population cards are standard size and easy to souffle. Also the rules included information for many of the expansion from the original game.Easy buy for "beer and pretzels'.

How I Learned to Love the Bomb!
Tongue in cheek game on a global nuclear war. Fairly light weight, rules wise, and works well with a group who wants to have fun and not play something too complicated. The components in this version are much better than in previous ones.

Great little game to teach the concept of assured mutual destruction. Slightly random and unbalanced but a good time waster.

The classic game I used play in college, now with better cardstock
The Population cards have been upgraded, there is a dice chart if you don't want to use the spinner but the game is the same quick playing classic
