Came really quickly and well packaged. I don't have a disk slot in my laptop so needed an external one. The drive is so easy to use: you just plug it in and away you go! It's a bit bigger than a CD case so there is no unnecessary sizing on the drive and it works so well and efficiently. I got the black and white one and the design is really sleek and well made. What I didn't realise when I ordered it is that the connecting cable is part of it - it's attached and stores underneath so no more losing cables which is fantastic! The cable is also double ended to fit a USB port and a smaller one so is versatile to fit anyone's device. Really happy with the product and would highly recommend.

I have started using this product for a couple of days and it has been very useful for my requirements as my laptop does not come with a DVD drive within (many modern gaming laptops do not contain a DVD drive, to reduce the weight and available space for other important components including the GPU, CPU, RAM and perhaps fan/water cooling). What i like about this specific product when compared to other competitors, is that this DVD drive is reliable and more stylish than other DVD drives i have discovered on Amazon. The most unique feature about this product,is that it comes with two different types of ports: USB- Type B, USB Type C meaning that this product is ideal for old and modern laptops as many older laptops do not support USB Type C. The only issue i have came across so far, is that the product is so lightweight that sometimes i find it quite difficult to insert a DVD onto the drive. Apart from that issue, i recommend this product if you have a low budget for a external DVD drive.

With most laptops these days not having a DVD drive, this unit gives a quality solution at a bargain price. Arrived quickly, works easily and just the job. Recommended.

This reader is exactly what I needed. My old one was getting flakey, misreading and disconnecting. I plugged this one in and off we went. Perfection! With more and more latops coming out without CD/DVDRW in them this little jewel is a must have.

I like the way the USB cable (which has both standard and the new C connectors) folds into the back of the Unit (see photo). It worked on my HP laptop with Windows 10 installed. Initially I could not see the drive. This was because the CD was using G: as its drive letter and I had a network drive mapped to G: Using Disk Manager (type diskmgmt.msc into the search box) I could see the CD drive and change its drive letter to H: One slight moan (hence 4 stars) was that the front tray cover was lose,although it was fairly simple to click back into place.

i originally had the Version with the adapter but now I have the version with the red stripe and it is excellent. Previously when ripping a CD I would see 6x or 8x speed but I have now seen 16x or even 19x and that is connected to an older PC which does not support USB3. The PC runs Windows 10. I have written a couple of CDs/DVDs which worked well. I am happy with this drive.Update: it stopped working after a year. Spend the extra and buy a drive with a name on it like Samsung, HP, Apple, Liteon, any with a reputation to protect.
