Handy dandy little helper
I bought this to use for longer phone calls such as when I'm in the kitchen cleaning or preparing food or even eating. I have an older phone (iphone 6s) with questionable acoustic quality, I didn't expect very much. It's simple and effective but it's no where near the same quality as a bluetooth speaker. This little product improves my ability to hear the phone while in speaker mode and doesn't require fancy setup. There is no lag the way connecting a bluetooth device might require. There is no wires that get tangled, no wireless earbuds that fall out while moving. For the handling of spontaneous phone calls such as those from my mother it is perfect. I got this model instead of the more boxy looking ones because the phone slot allows the phone to be placed in portrait mode, if needed. Those were the specific features I was looking for when I purchased this, and it has served its purpose well. The wood sort of blends in with the rest of my decor so leaving it out on the counter is no big deal. A darker wood color would be even more aesthetically pleasing but I'm not complaining. It feels quite sturdy and solid construction. I was debating between something simple like this versus a speakerphone. I decided this because (a) much more affordable, (b) more futureproof than any battery operated or bluetooth device, (c) robust enough to handle the conditions of an active kitchen (splattering water, oil, etc) the way an electronic device would not.I wish there was a way to keep a phone charging while using this with the phone upright since my old phone also has questionable battery life. The slot fits a phone with a thin case without issues. A slight squeeze for thicker cases. It could fit a tablet and amplify the sound somewhat but it also tilts when there's too much weight. Regardless of these factors I will also get another to put in my office since I too seem to be getting long phone conversations when I want to use my hands to type, clean, file papers and so forth.

Attractive phone stand, improves phone audio slightly
This is a handy device that I'm happy to say I use a lot. It will only work for mobile phones having a relatively slim case, up to 3/8" or appx 1cm in total width. Mine has a satin finish over nicely-grained blonde hardwood, and it comes with two screw-in brass feet to slightly tilt it (optional). It's an attractive compact mobile phone stand for either vertical or horizontal display, and I've found I tend to use it more for that than for enhancing my phone's audio.Regarding that, I hoped its acoustic port might do a bit of what tuned ports in closed-back speakers do, but it's just a hollowed-out opening that bounces the audio coming from your phone's speakers forward. That slightly highlights upper-midrange frequencies, making your phone sound less tinny. Our ears perceive the sound as louder, but it's really just those midrange frequencies popping out a bit more. It works well for low-volume music reproduction at times when an amplified speaker would be overkill and you can live without full-range audio quality. Its design won't let you charge your phone in the vertical position if your charging jack is (as is typical) between the phone's two internal speakers, so no charging while boosting your phone's audio. I'm OK with that given its cost, appearance, how well made it is, and that I'm using it a lot for both of its intended purposes.

Only fits slim phones without cases
You can't insert phone if it has a case. Eapecially the otterboxes. The slot is too small. Only fits slim phones

Sturdy stand
I like this for how cute and sturdy it is. The speaker aspect does amplify a little, but not really well. Still, it’s worth the money and I’m happy with it.

Handcrafted Masterpiece!
This simple and elegant phone stand is great companion everywhere. I put it up when reading in library, working at desk, and even playing computer games at home. It saves me from numerous interruptions of picking the phone up and checking it out. It maintains my mental peace by replacing regular obsessive checking with handsfree notice, helps me keep longtime focus, and adds an aroma of artistry to whatever I am doing. Less plastic, less metal, more wood.

Waste of Money
This amplifier is a complete waste of money. I don’t even use it for anything. One, my phone doesn’t fit int properly to get the amplified effect well at all. Two, I have to take off my phone case every time just to use it just as a stand. I did read the other reviews and dimensions of the phone that the amplifier accommodates, but it just ended up being a hard fail. SMH every time I see it collecting dust over in the corner of my sink.

Works, and looks good!
This looks very good, is handy for charging the phone and does work for an amplifier for the phone. It's much louder with this phone stand. It looks well crafted and nice on our counter.
