Great, but just one thing...
This guy is real deal and have only skimmed the book so far. There is one thing that I am wary of and other people should too. Using raw eggs is a no no and with salmonella, it is not good to take a chance with them. Hard boiling the eggs is just as delicious and healthy and that is what I am going to do. I saw a documentary on the early days of Arnold Schwarzenegger and saw him doing the same thing with blending raw eggs, no way. Everything else looks sound in the book and I enjoyed reading about his personal history. If I were to listen to anyone’s advice, it would be his.

Came for Dolph, stayed for the workout.
I mainly bought this book because I am a fan of Dolph's, but I decided to try the workouts too. I'm somewhat experienced with weightlifting and this workout is very challenging. I've had to adapt some of the exercises. For example, I couldn't really do the planks on the ball, so I do them on the ground. I don't have access to a row machine, so I do dumbbell rows. I didn't know how to do a couple of the exercises, but the pictures and instructions were very clear.I grew up doing martial arts and have always been impressed by Dolph. Reading about his struggle and love for the martial arts was definitely inspirational. The autobiographical portion of this book isn't very long or detailed, but it was just enough for me. His life has been so guided by his path to physical fitness that it really made sense to have an autobiography that is interspersed with workout information (or is it the other way around?). Regardless, very fun and useful book. The pictures are gorgeous too.

One of the best purchases I've made
Glad to say that the reviews that helped me buy this book are true. It's definitely catered towards fans (why else would you be looking, otherwise?) of his that are interested in his life. It's not heavy on the autobiographical stuff, but he stays to point and focuses on key details. Perfectly balanced, if you ask me.As for the workout side of things, I think the book does a great job of not only explaining how to do the exercises (photos for everything) but it also explains their significance well. There are plenty of fitness books out there but this one resonates with me. Not only as a fan, but the way Dolphs exercise philosophy is explained really spoke to me, which is a big motivation for me going forward. You will definitely see results if you stick to the routine and keep a good attitude about things.

This Book Cannot Be Defeated!
This book was exactly what I was looking for: a comprehensive fitness routine that works, and an inspiring story that once again proves that anything is possible as long as you are willing to work hard enough and take advantage of one's opportunities (having a little bit of luck doesn't hurt either). The fact that there are many routines to choose from, whether I am on the road or at my fitness center, and includes recipes, makes it worth my money. Thanks

Gotta love Dolph.
My wife made fun of me for reading this, but I liked it. Has some nice anecdotes about his childhood and time in Hollywood, along with some good fitness tips. He is an inspiring guy.

An easy read that covers the hows and whys but leaves you wanting more
What you get from this book is up to you. In some respects it is like a B-Grade movie that you just can't take your eyes off.Dolphs' life story is intermiggled with the fitness information, there is a definite story there, and an interesting and intriguing one at that. But like your B-Grade movie, enough of it isn't fleshed out and filled in. I finished the book wanting to know more about his struggles, his achievements, his view points. That side of things really comes across more like an intro to the biography I hope he someday writes. The fitness side of things really comes down to how much you want from it. If you've never done anything gym related before, this is probably not the book for you. If you've been able to knock out some dead lifts and bar bell presses in the past, you'll likely recognise at least some of the exercises, and you may even see how fitting the different parts together could work. By no means does it try to be all things to all people, and it is a bit male focuses on the weight side of things, however the No Excuses plan is a great piece of information that, by itself, makes the book worthwhile.Overall know what you are getting here. If you are after a detailed biography covering the rags to riches story like Arnolds Total Recall book, you'll be sorely left wanting more. Same goes if you are after a purely technical exercise and fitness guide. If you want an easy read that covers the hows and the whys, this is a book I'd recommend.
