Do the drops remove histamines too or just sulfites and tannins?

hank you for your question. That we get often. It is impossible for a product to remove histamines. Histamines are produced in the body. Histamines in your body react to the sulfites, tannins, or other products in your wine. To say that a histamines are filtered out of a glass of wine is slightly misleading. If your body has a reaction to sulfites it will release the histamines. When the sulfites get filtered out, then your body will not react and produce the histamines. Drop It does not filter out the sulfites. Drop It converts the sulfites to harmless sulfates. Therefore, the body will not release the histamines. The body will not recognize that chemical structure. With 3 drops to a 5oz glass of wine the laboratory showed a reduction of the sulfites to less than 2ppm. It is almost not traceable. The tannins have an open hydrogen bond in which our proteins attach to. This once again will keep your body from producing histamines. Drop It only slightly reduces 4 of the 9 phenolics in the panel tested. The other products on the market will not reduce any of the phenolics. There also may be other phenols or other products an individual may react to which Drop It or other products may not impact. Currently we are only experiencing a less than 1% return rate, because a product did not work for someone. Let us know if you need more clarification. Is it normal to see things floating in your wine glass?

Just for some clarification. If your wine is really high in sulfites you may see clear crystal particulates. So yes, that means it is working. You should not feel them on your palate. If your wine it that high in sulfites you may want to try another wine. Price is usually not a factor. If you notice small peppery flakes at the bottom of your glass, that is normal. Those are the tannins precipitating to the bottom of your glass. That is fining in your wine. However, if you notice floating white particles this is an indication of a very tannic wine that is outnumbering our ability to precipitate them to the bottom. Once again, You may want to reconsider the wine selection. Price of your wine is not a factor. Drop It not only reduces both sulfites and tannins, it can actually give you a good idea as to whether or not your wine may be very high in those preservatives. Double Bonus!!!

Does it remove all sulfites or just reduce them?

Hi Janice, Thanks for your interest and a really great question. The Laboratory tests indicate that with the addition of one Drop to a 5-6 oz glass of wine the reduction is about 85%. With the addition of 2-3 drops per 5-6 oz the sulfites are not measurable and not traceable and recorded at less than 2 ppm. I hope this answers your question. Do you have a vegan version of Drop It? I would be interested in an egg free formula.

I too, was tested to have a sensitivity to egg whites (pasting from another note below) & would be very interested in you having you craft a formula without the egg whites. Finally I can drink red wine without getting a headache

100% recommend these wine drops!! I instantly get a migraine after one or two sips of red wine. I tried them last night and was able to have several glasses of red wine. No headache last night or the next morning. It was amazing. The only downside is that it does alter the taste of the wine a little bit. Not enough that it makes it taste bad but worth noting. I will be buying this product again!

Wine sulfite remover

It dispenses quickly so to much comes out. It also doesn’t blend well. I find little residue in the wine

Did not work for me

My lady loves wine with dinner so I try to enjoy it with her. I had tried wine filters, the tea bag style you drop in the glass. After a few tries I gave up. I got a headache each time so those did not work for me. I hoped these drops would work. I did taste a difference in the wine flavor but it was not a huge difference and I still enjoyed the taste, unlike some other reviewers. A few hours after dinner I got a headache. Fortunately it was not severe. I get migraines but this was just a mild headache for me. So maybe this helped avoid a severe headache or migraine, maybe not. Since the drops are not returnable, I will try them again. A mild headache is better than the severe ones I got before. I'll try to update my review in a few weeks. UPDATE 6/1/2023: So I tried this again. Two glasses of red wine, Cabernet Sauvignon. I put 3-4 drops in each glass. I did notice a difference in taste this time, it wasn't nasty as some reviewers stated but it was noticeable. The taste was a bit like hydrogen peroxide, which is one of the ingredients. The taste did take away from the enjoyment of the flavor a bit. Now for the main question - did it work? NO! I got a very bad headache, so I won't be trying this again. If I'm going to get a headache anyway then I might as well enjoy the natural flavor of the wine. I'll just have to limit myself to one glass of wine. Good luck, I hope it woks for you.

I was a bit sceptical if it was true but it actually works. I don’t know whether it stops a headache but it does help with reactions to the tannins.

My wife had to stop drinking wine because of the sulphites in it, but a couple of drops of this into a glass or a few more in a bottle and hey presto, now she can drink wine again - which is a shame because my wine now only lasts half as long. Seriously though, this is amazing stuff
