Chaos Will Not Be Ignored!
When life is pulling you in a certain direction, yield a little to the current. You might be amazed at what you find. The key is, it doesn't pay to fight the universe. Absorb the chaos theory as put forth by this book and it can change your life or, at the very least, your way of thinking.

A straight line to non-linearity!
These lessons have helped my understanding and comprehension of the universe, hitherto obscured by Newtonian Linear perspectives.

Resonates with my experiences in life
Awesome book. After just reading the first chapter i could totally resonate with what was written. I am currently on the 7th chapter and had to re-read a few chapters to get a better understanding ot the the subtlety of life experiences I experience daily. I will definitely need to re-read the book for better clarification of life experiences in the midst of everyday chaos.

A thinking book
My experience with chaos theory has been in the math world. I was disappointed that the author does not allow that math and art have a similar connection through chaos. Lots of information to think about though.

Four Stars
Read this for a class. It's a bit dated overall and insightful read.

A great book that has helped me view the world in a different, better way
A lot of our problems in this world come from rigid, black and white thinking. This book helps us to see both the simplicity and the complexity in life, and to open our minds to all that is around us.

The New Science given a human face
The development of chaos theory has provided new insights for science. It has enabled scientific thinking to move away from a picture of the universe based on idealised and inevitably simplified models, towards a more truthful representation of the world we actually experience. This well written and fascinating book addresses the challenge of adapting our new scientific understanding and applying it to our daily lives. book takes seven key features of our understanding of chaos and in turn explores how they may prompt us to think and act in new ways that better align with the true nature of the world.- Be Creative: engage with chaos to find imaginative new solutions and live more dynamically- Use Butterfly Power: Let chaos grow local efforts into global results- Go with the Flow: Use chaos to work collectively with others- Explore What's Between: Discover life's rich subtleties and avoid the traps of stereotypes.- See The Art of the World: Appreciate the beauty of life's chaos.- Live Within Time: Utilise time's hidden depths.- Rejoin the whole: Realise our fractal connectedness to each other and the world.I felt at home with this book as it covers ground that I have been exploring, so in one sense it is a very welcome addition to my knowledge, disappointingly however, for a book written in 1999 its impact seems to have been minimal. The final chapter of the book describes why this would be so. We live in a world that yearns for answers, even when they can't exist. Chaos theory is about the inability to predict and control, the inability to know and the reality of the unknowable. This is a book that embraces that reality with the following statements.1. Every statement in this book is limited.2. 1. is a statement in this book.If you want an alternative to the endless stream of `Look here I've discovered the winning formula' books, then this would make a fabulous start point.

Excellent, thought provoking book
Exvellent book, well written and thought provoking. As someone with no prior knowledge of chaos theory, I did need to read a few paragraphs more than once to fully grasp some of the concepts, but definitely worth the time.It os one of the few books that I would like to read again.

Unerwartete Einsichten
Absolut empfehlenswert!

Awsome book
I am a physicist and wanted to write a small blog note about chaos. Before that, I wanted to read this book. From the very beginnings, I got lot of helpful informations. In the first chapter for example, the author tells us how easy it is to be creative if we look around and see the chaos next to us. And I was surprised about the beautiful stories from the fields of arts and history. This book is more than a popular science book. It is also a piece of literature.
