Just what an RVer needs.
I bought the P3000 when a lighting strike took out a transformer station in my city knocking out power for 4 hours. I had been planning on buying it for my RV for some time as well and I am glad I did. I had done lots of researching and saw many less expensive generators in this power range I could have gone with but I finally came to the conclusion that you get what you pay for and even a $300 generator is too much money to waste on a gamble. Most of the complaints I have seen written on this generator seemed more like high altitude issues or operator error so I was feeling pretty confident in my purchase. It arrived well packaged though the oil bottle was leaking and the funnel was broken. A quick trip to a Walmart took care of that as I wanted full synthetic oil anyway. On the recommendation of a generator repair man I filled up the tank with premium Chevron gas and on the 3rd pull it started right up and was humming away. I hooked up my 13A electron lawn mower and then mowed the back lawn. The highest is read was about 30% load. It was so quiet that I couldn't hear it over my lawn mower and my wife and I carried on a normal conversation standing 5 feet away from it. Over all I am very impressed and the pull handle with the built in wheels makes it easy to move around even for my petite wife.I won't bother describing all the features on it as you can read the listing for that but it is laid out intelligently and everything I have tested works like it should.Next week I will be field testing it on the RV by hooking it up to the 30A 120V connector to see how it handles charging the house batteries in the morning as well as occasional A/C or microwave usage.Update: I took the P3000 on our camping trip but forgot to bring the included 30A connector so I was forced to use one of the 20A plugs. I parked it about 20 feet away from the PUP and it was barely noticeable in the back ground. In fact, it was far quieter than one of the cheap generators being used at the group camping area about a 10th of a mile away that was disturbing the peace for the rest of the campers. That being said when my wife ran the microwave the P3000 did ramp up noticeably but that was expected and we only used it for about 1 minute. It did a fantastic job topping off the batteries and allowing us to charge up a few electronic devices. I only ran it about 30 minutes - 1 hour at a time about 3 times a day for the two days we were there and it only used about 1/3 of the gas in the tank. A nice feature I hadn't noticed was the 3 LED lights that light up the front of the P3000 made it easy to read and find in the dark. The handle on the back made it easy for me to chain it to a tree or wheel so no one was tempted to walk off with it. I have to state that it is not a light unit to load/unload from the RV but once on the ground the slide handle and wheels make relocating it a breeze. All I can say is the P3000 worked perfectly so our next camping trip will be boon docking away from the crowds at a few places I have been wanted to try. This combined with our solar setup means we won't be disturbing the peace too much and enjoying the peace and quite of nature much more comfortably. So if you are looking for a truly quiet generator that can get the job done but doesn't cost as much as a Honda then I fully recommend the P3000Update March 2018: Still very happy with the performance of the P3000. Haven't had a single issue since I bought it and we have been boondocking more frequently. I even upgraded to a 24' camper and still only have to use this generator a couple of times a day to charge up various electronics and the morning battery boost. I bring a spare gas can but have yet had to add fuel on a weekend camping trip. The 30A connector allows me to plug right in to the camper and at 15' away I can barely hear it inside unless the microwave is in use. This summer I plan to test how it handles the new AC and update again.

Did a good job after Irma, but small gas tank
I like it so far. I have 15000 watt generator, but it is very loud and a huge gas guzzler. Wanted something that would be more fuel efficient and powerful enough to power my frig, some fans and a small one room AC. The P3000 was one of the few units that said could be delivered before Irma hit here in Florida. It did arrive in time. I was out of power for 7 days. I had to work during the storm (Saturday through Monday evening), but when I got home on Monday night, I immediately got this unit out.It was quick and easy to setup. It started on the second pull. It was much quieter than my massive generator. It was able to power my frig and two fans and only used around 14% of is power capacity. Tried to get it to power a 14000 BTU portable AC by Honeywell, but it could not. The overload light came on as soon as the compressor kicked in and the P3000 stopped supplying power, until I hit reset the button - but of course, I first had to disconnect the AC or it would just overload again. The Honeywell had no information on the box or in the manual on how many surge or running watts it needed.Obviously it needed too much. I borrowed an 8000 BTU Haier AC from a friend who had power. It was able to power that easily. Couldn't see what the surge load was, since I was not by the generator when I turned on the AC, but the running load with all the above turned on, include the 8000 BTU AC was about 45%.At 45% load, I went through only about 5 gallons of gas per day. Much better than 24+ gallons per day I use on my 15000 watt generator. I ran this unit about 145 hours straight before I got my power back. The unit says to change oil and clean air filter every 50 hours of use. I did read that part, but not until the unit reminded me by having LED readout start to flash. I then looked up in the manual what that meant. Good thing I did, because the oil did look fairly dirty by that time.Started it back up in 1 or 2 pulls and it ran fine again and continued to, until I eventually shut it down for good when my power came back (145 hours of total use).My only complaint so far was it has such a small gas tank (about 1 1/2 gallons I believe). I had to refill it a couple of times a day. If running over 24 hours, you will have to get up in the middle of the night to refuel it. I typically set my alarm for every 4 1/2 hours just to make really sure I would wake up before it ran out of gas.***Update***As stated above, this unit would not power the Honeywell 14000 BTU portable AC, but did power a borrowed Haier 8000 BTU AC. I returned the Honeywell and bought an Whynter ARC-122DHP Elite 12000 BTU, which is a very efficient AC for a portable. It did state how many watts it needed, which was 980. It didn't state what the surge watts were, but I took the chance that it was lower than what the P3000 could handle. I am happy to report, the P3000 was able to power the 12000 BTU Whynter. It was at about 45% power usage (without the frig and fans - had power back, so no need to hook the frig & fans up to it). This was just a test to make sure it could power the AC. I did not really see it jump up much above 45% even on AC startup - maybe up just a percent or to higher, but certainly it didn't go above 50% on startup. Since my frig and two fans took up about 15%, this unit should be at about 60% if I ever need it again to power the fans, frig and AC.In short, still happy with the P3000 generator. Powers, what I need, fuel efficient. I don't expect it will do quite as good on fuel, since with this new AC, the load will now be 60%, instead of 45%. I am guessing it will now take 6-7 gallons a day. Hopefully I never have to find out. My only complaint so far is still just the small gas tank. It is only a 1 1/2 gallon fuel tank size, which even with good fuel efficiency requires you to refill it several times a day.

Great Genny for half the price of the big guys
Bought this to give us some power for the camper seeing the mixed reviews of the genny not powering some peoples ac didnt scare me. Easy startup procedure fired on first pull, best bang for your buck for sure did lots of research. Powered the microwave on first camp trip at about 60% capacity and was amazing to move around and noise level was just as good as any yammy or honda for half the price, It did not power my 13,500 btu dometic ac unit unfortunately, but i got a spp6 hard start capacitor off amazon installed myself on the ac unit under 10 mins and it runs my ac perfectly first try everytime, runs about 60% capacity on genny with just ac so you could get away with basic power, probly best to keep the fridge and water heater on gas at that point but Its a great unit, just lost a star on that one fact.
