WEST System 865-4 G/5 Five Minute Epoxy Adhesive, 8 fl oz

Don't know why I didn't get this sooner. I've fixed many items already; easy peasy.

This West Systems and Bob Smith industries have the best epoxy money can buy. Two issues though: 1. It is not waterproof. You have to dig around to find the disclaimer in the Amazon ad. 2. It has very low viscosity, almost like water, and drips off vertical surfaces.

it is really not much more than 5min, so do not mix all up at once. when u feel it getting warm it is over in 1min.

Bonds great. I wish the odor didn’t make me noxious. I bought a mask to use with it. I hope it helps because otherwise it’s great. Update: I use a fan to blow the odor of the uncured hardener away. Best glue I’ve used!

Every one who has hobbies or a home should have this. Sets hard and fast and can be mixed with the West System fillers for different consistency. Price is high but more cost effective than buying the little five minute tubes. And these bottles don’t leak since they stand upright. The small tubes always leaked around the stopper and then it’s on your fingers.

WEST SYSTEM is my go to and the only epoxy I'll use for adhesive type projects (i.e. not river tables). I always keep some of this, their GFlex line, and their 105 series on hand. I've tried many different brands and there's just no beating the WEST products. I used the Loctite brand until this came out, and I definitely feel like this is an upgrade. In my opinion, the G/5 is a better consistency and a little easier to work. I've also found that the hardener does not thicken up in the bottle after sitting on the shelf for a long time (a year or more) like the other brand. The Bob Smith stuff is really not good compared to this and you'll be doing yourself a favor by getting some of this instead. The only caveat with this is it sets up up a little quicker than other 5 minute epoxies, which can be good or bad, so make sure to only mix up small batches to control the cure rate and heat.

I’ve been using this product for 20+ years both in my marine business and on my personal boat. Not much pot life (it is five minute epoxy) so you need to be ready to roll when you mix. I’ve used numerous “fast” epoxy’s over the years and this one is worth the price difference. My best advice is to understand the prep and application parameters.
