My cat's nemesis (but in a good way!)
So I have this cat...his name is Guacamole and he eats literally everything in sight. He had a fancy feeder that fed him little bits of food 5 times a day. Even though this fatty ate 5 times a day, he would STILL run to his feeder and scarf down all the food he could. This is return caused him to constantly throw up whole food all over my white carpets....every...day. You can see how exhausting this would be. So I looked into a feeder that would slow him down a bit so he could chew and digest each piece of food. Let me tell you, this has cut down his scarfing SIGNIFICANTLY. I have yet to clean up puked up food since i received this in the mail. He's not happy with it, but he's not the one that has to clean up the messes, ya know?Great buy, great price. Very pleased

Maybe not for all cats
I know this product is for dogs, but I needed a solution for one of my cats, who throws up when he eats too fast. I couldn't find any specifically designed for cats, but I decided to try this one because it was larger than the others, so I thought they might have an easier time fitting their nose through the spaces. They can fit through the center, but the spaces around the edge are too small and deep, so I just overfill the center area, and leave the food they can't get to. They didn't like it at first, but it has been about a week and they have gotten used to it. Cat has stopped vomiting ever since! In general, I would say it works perfectly for cats if you don't have to portion their meals (my one cat also has weight issues).

No More Cat Hork
So, my *ahem* “hefty” cats were eating too fast and then throwing up piles of food on my bed. (YAY!) So these bowls were my first attempt to end this disgusting behavior, and they were VERY effective. My bed is safe. Heads up though, they’re a *little* bigger than necessary for cats if that’s your intended purpose, but definitely too small for a dog of any substance. Also I ordered two and they came two to a pack so now I have four, probably because I didn’t pay a heck of a lot of attention to the description and in my mind they were showing what it looked like full and empty in the picture instead of showing two items... probably not a mistake most would make but I thought I’d mention it anyway.

It's huge, but it helps.
I don't know why it's so hard to find this type of bowl in a smaller size! This one is enormous for my 9-lb. Yorkie and his daily 1/3 cup of food. However, it does slow down his Hoovering. He's smart enough to have figured out almost immediately that he can just flip the whole thing over when he gets tired of playing the hunt & peck game, but for whatever reason seems to be content with the game every time until there are only a few pieces left. So overall, it's a win. I just really wish there was a smaller option!Note: if you have a serious chewer, do not expect to leave this bowl with them for long and not find it destroyed. It's not very heavy plastic, so you'll want to feed and then take it away. But again, it does slow them down if they'll buy into it!

My cats need jobs
I am trying this out for my 2 year old cat who pukes all the time after he eats. I took him to the vet, and $400 later she said my cat was constipated. I was using the hairball laxative for cats and he was still throwing up. I took him to the vet and another $300 later, she said he had a food allergy and needed special food. He got special $40 food, and he still throws up. I got these bowls and he has not vomited. The other cat hates using it, but oh well. My cats need jobs and I need to play the lottery. Expensive process of elimination. The bowl slides around even with the grips on the bottom. I would recommend getting a tray to put the bowls on.

Doesn't work for my cats - good starter bowl for a dog
Update: After my review was published, UPSKY volunteered to refund my money. Very nice of them. I've updated my rating to four stars from the original one star.Poor kitty. He could see his food, he could smell it, it was right there under his nose, but his nose wouldn't fit into the bowl. Torture for the poor food-obsessed cat.For dogs, these would make good starter bowls. They are thin, sort of flimsy and are easily pushed all over the kitchen. But they're cheap, and a perfect way to see if this strategy will work for your pet.

Worked fantastic for cats that love to inhale food and throw it right back up.
First off, please ignore that dead plant next to the cat feeding area. We were out of town for 10 days, and my mom over watered the plant and killed it.But back to the actual product. These bowls are awesome! I have a dog but she doesn’t need it because she eats her food slowly. But my two cats are gluttons and inhale the food as soon as it’s put down. One of them even over grooms herself and it’s super neurotic. Because of that she would constantly throw up her food. Since switching over to these new bowls, we have had zero incidents of puke. The cats were very angry the first day and constantly give me dirty looks. But beggars can’t be choosers, so they eventually went ahead and started eating little by little. They paw morsels of food out and eat it one by one. Homes with fat cats and pukers, GET THESE!!!

Does the job
My cats hate this, but that was also the point I suppose. One of my cats was eating too fast, not even chewing, and then throwing it up. The vet suggested we look into slow feeder bowls. Since this one had a number of reviews for cats we went with it. They can indeed get to and eat the good when they want to, but man oh man are they displeased. I can’t decide which is worse. Cleaning up vomit, or constantly tripping over begging cats in the kitchen because they want their old bowls back. The one drawback I will say is that the little rubber feet they give you are not enough to keep a cat from sliding this right off their food dish mat and dragging it all over the floor from pawing at it. I ended up taking the feet right off and getting some heavy duty sticky Velcro and sticking it right to the mat. They make a plastic Velcro like this that can still take a good washing.

Funcional

Funcionales, resistentes y bien precio!
