Sawtooth Tribe Series 8" Hand Carved Unity Design Rope Djembe

It’s honestly an amazing steal for a sub $100 djembe drum. It’s not giant by any means but still has a good bassy innotation on one third of the head. I’m absolutely sure this is a mass produced unit but indeed some sweat shop in this Indonesia is making these with a very high standard of craftsmanship i presume because it really is a decently built drum at the price of under fifty bucks usd (there is a tag that states “Indonesia legal wood” attached to the drum) not really sure what that means because there are no other words anywhere else to explain how this was made “legally” all in all it’s a great drum at the price.

We used it right out of the box for a recording of a latin jazz love song. It's small but it's loud but for a live gig, you'd have to mic it. It's also a beautiful piece of art. I put lemon oil on the skin but you don't have to do that. Needed no tuning. Everybody thinks it's cute.

You cannot beat the quality of this drum at this price. I wasn't sure if this drum would be the "real thing" but it definitely is. Th sound is rich and crisp. I'm amazed at the range of sounds and tones I get from this drum. As an experienced drummer, I recommend this drum highly. Great for beginners or professionals. The quality is there.

It appeared to be well made but I wanted a drum made in Africa.
