๐ช Soar to New Heights with G-Force!
This kit stands over five feet tall! The G Force Rocket features an impressive four inch diameter, precision airfoil molded fins, Fin Lok fin mounting system, and rugged construction. The G Force provides spectacular slow lift-offs when powered by an Aerotech G motor.

Big, easy to build, and a LOT of fun to launch!
The media could not be loaded. ย Great looking medium-large rocket (58" tall, 4" dia) that is fun to launch and easy to build! After getting into Estes model rockets as a kid in the 60s, my interest was renewed recently and this is/was my first mid-power rocket kit. Unlike many medium and high power rocket kits, this kit is complete except for finishing and building supplies. My understanding is this is a common characteristic of Aerotech kits.. The other reviewer has a point about the fins, but I didn't think it was that big of a deal. There are mold dimples on both sides at the root of each fin that need to be sanded and filled if you want them to be completely gone, but the fins are also very nicely bevelled on both the leading and trailing edges that give them a nice aerodynamic look. In the end, I only did some light sanding to assure that the primer would hold well. A note of caution about the nose cone is that it is made of HDPE which makes it difficult to get primer or paint to stick. I would recommend finishing its sanding at 220 grit, and use three coats of primer before painting. I used the Rustoleum "Painter's Touch 2X Ultra Cover" primer and paint to paint this rocket with good success. As another reviewer said, if you leave out the engine hook and install an engine retainer, you can also use level 1 higher powered motors on this rocket. The good news is this kit now COMES WITH an aluminum engine retainer and modified instructions on how to install it! (This might not be with all kits currently in stock and you might want to ask the seller about it first.)Although it's not a high flyer (about 580 feet on a G40-4W) this rocket looks awesome off the pad! I second the caution about launching this rocket from a Mantis launch pad, or anything else that's not either sturdy or secured. It flies well with the included lugs, but I may end up adding buttons to use with a 1010 rail in the future. Regardless, if you go with a 1/4" launch rod, make sure it's on a very sturdy base and 60" long at a minimum. One more note of caution, this kit has an issue with the stock coupler in that it is too tight, and many people have had experiences with chute deployment failure. The rocket then comes down as a very dangerous "lawn dart." You will need to test fit and do some significant sanding to make sure it is loose enough for proper deployment. A good test is that if you hold the rocket by the upper section and shake it a little, it should start to separate. For size, if you look at the pic below, our GSD (included for scale) is an 80lb girl! If you view the launch video, for perspective, the chute is 42" in diameter.

Poor design
Be Careful! My G motor did not separate the rocket. It fell straight to the ground. There is not enough space for the shock cord and parachute.

This is a nice mid power rocket!
This kit is easy to assemble, and now includes a motor retainer. I am a Level 3 certified flyer and have built many high power rockets. I use the g-force for student demonstrations and have built several of these over the years. This a kit will not disappoint you!

Good rocket for HPR certification
I used this rocket to obtain my Level 1 High Power Certification, even though it is intended for Mid power. Worked well for this. Aerotech kits are well made, but they require some effort to create a "showroom" finish. Mainly because of the fin castings. They require a lot of sanding and filling at the root edge if you want a smooth looking fin joint. More than wood fins actually. You would think plastic fins would be pretty much ready for paint. Consider Estes Mid power Nike X, it has plastic fins that have no significant flaws. But I like a lot of things on Aerotech kits. One note - *if you plan to use for HPR remember not to install engine block or engine hook. I used estes plastic screw on 29 mm retainer*

Love this rocket
I have this rocket and love it. It's easy to build and flies great. Gives low and slow flights on the mid thrust motors like the G38FJ, G40W, but the high thrust motors like the G64W, G71R, G80T, will give it a nice quick kick off the pad. If you use the Mantis pad to launch this bird, I recommend that you weigh it down securely or it may tip over.Just be sure to use the 4 second delays with most motors or the 7 second delay on the new 137 newton-second G80T as that is the default short delay with that motor.
