Handmade Sword 1045 Carbon Steel Hand Forged Samurai Katana Sword

The first thing I did when i got it was a paper test, after i wiped off all the oil/wax it was coated in for storage/shipping. it cut well, then reoiled it. There was a few scuffs on the blade up near the point but they didn't really concern me, I took off the handle to see the full tang, and getting the bamboo pegs out was sort of a difficult task for the first time, they were in there tight, and getting the handle away from the tsuba was very hard because of how tight it is, (same goes for putting it back on). all in all, a very well made sword, beautifully decorated tsuba, i looked at a lot of different functional swords 200 dollars and less before I decided on this one, and I'm happy I did. even with the scuffs, I still look forward to getting a display stand and displaying this thing. There is a tiny dent on the front tsuba guard, (the piece between the tsuba and the blade that can't even be removed (at least I couldn't)) however it's so small it's hardly noticable unless the light hits it just right, so it doesn't bother me.

I own many swords and this is one of my top. This is not the cheap crap you get on Budk and similar sites, yet relatively inexpensive. I could write a long list of pro's, but I'll make it simple. You will not be disappointed. I was so impressed that I've already ordered the 1060 version of this sword.

Its nice for the money, i see the wooden dowell protruding from the handle that another review mentioned, but can still hold it fine. Little heavier blade than I thought it would be, overall looks nice and feels sturdy

First off, I want to say Fast shipping! I ordered from Germany and I got the item fast!!! Thanks.First off when I got the blade, I cleaned it off and noticed some marks on the blade, not too bad. Maybe it was from the blade hitting in the inside of the scaberd.Next I did the paper test of course. And this sword was Awsome! Cut so clean. Katana was not bent nor damaged from shipping. For the price, You can NOT ask for anything better!!! 4th Katana ordered from HandmadeSwords and will continue to order from site!

This is a pretty nice sword however for the money there are better swords. When i received mine i saw on the blade that it appeared to have 2 hamons... yeah one was much more prominent than the other and its hardly noticeable and blade also looks scratchy. the tsuka was very nice and all the fittings were nice. All in all this is a good buy, you will be satisfied

The sword came in faster than expected, and met my high expectations. It is razor sharp, there are no knicks, and it feels as if it was built to last. In my opinion, this sword is worth the money.

Received the sword in beautiful condition. The sword was slightly oiled for maintenance, which I fully understand. The sword is extremely sharp and is indeed battle-ready. I plan on purchasing another sword again from this seller.

The blade is sharp and clean, the tsuba is well cast, all fittings are tight, and the wrapping is well applied. Very nice blade for the price! I do not regret this purchase.
