A: My map of the U.S.A. cutting board came in a nice sturdy box that fit it perfectly.  To protect it, and to not worry about wrapping something odd shaped, I left it in the box and just wrapped the box!  It saved wrapping paper, it saved time, it saved a hassle, and it protected my purchase.  Problem solved!
