Gardena Water Control Select, Automatic, Time-Saving Watering, Flexible Watering with 3 Schedules, Water Now Function (1891-28)

Slightly more than I wanted to pay, but proably the only timer that will water for two short periods during the night. It is so easy/simple to program that I didn't open the instructions and found it no problem at all. One comment about the display - if you hold it a particular angle to the light, all of the characters available on the screen can be seen, rather than just what you have selected. I want it for a low pressure misting/watering system, and the pressure reducer (Hozelock 7022) screws directly onto the bottom of the timer. Also, a couple of words of caution from bitter personal experience. Never attach any plastic gizmo bigger than a hose connector directly to a tap - one slight knock and it will crack. Fit a 3/4G adapter/male hose connector to the top and then use a short length of hose to connect to the tap with standard hose push connectors. I used about 4 feet of hose and the timer is hung from the wall a couple of feet from the tap and above it. Drain it for winter. Get a black plastic bag - a bit of a compost bag or one that has been used for a mail order delivery - cut an inch across one corner and fit the bag over the timer, the supply coming in via the cut corner. The timer should last many years not being exposed to the sun.

Very good, simple to use. Three timers, seven days a week for how ever long you want to water for. Battery will last for two years if remove and store over winter. Good quality reasonably priced.

Just like the master units, we got a bunch of these in the summer. They worked flawlessly until the first frost when over half of them burst. There's a small icon on the packet to indicate they should be protected from frost but it's an expensive mistake to make and it should be much more obvious that they have minimal resilience to the cold.

Quality Product that is easy to install. Operation is simple and intuitive with programming really straight forward. Controller can be removed from base for ease of adjusting.

Bought to replace its big brother the 1874 which has become too expensive to consider. It is crucial to take the whole unit indoors overwinter they are not frost proof. The item I bought was £39 so ok. Would recommend.

This is the second Gardena controller I have bought, both failed in the same way by developing leaks within the casing. First time I thought it was something I had done, but both split in the same place after less than one year. The manufacturer claimed it was frost damamge - even though this occured in late May....after 2 months of toing and froing with emails. It was not frost damage, the cmotroller is inside a greenhouse which is thermostatically heat controlled all year round. They made me jump through hoops taking videos, then stripping the controller down and taking more videos. Each time having to wait up to a month for a reply. Then finally said "not covered by the warranty" sorry, good bye - not even offering parts to repair the unit. Atrocious customer support, bad quality product and a very poor experience, I spend heavily on my main hobby, gardening. I will not buy, nor advise anyone else, to buy a Gardena product. I am not a serial complainer - I have never given a bad review before on amazon.

Ottimo prodotto, molto semplice l' utilizzo e la configurazione, per ora funziona molto bene. Per l'operatività ha bisogno di una batteria 9V, ha 3 programmi di temporizzazione differenti e la parte frontale con lo schermo si può estrarre lasciando solo il corpo collegato ai tubi dell'acqua, molto utile l'inverno quando il temporizzatore non serve per evitare deterioramenti.
