Works great
I did a lot of research on post drivers, especially the reviews. There are common things people have complained about and I'll address those first: Poor documentation - Not mine. Other than a couple of letter omissions it was well written and thorough and seemed to be written by an American, not broken English as a lot of Chinese products are. It mentioned adding motor oil (sae10W-30) and how much, it also mentioned adding grease in the hammer case after 40 hours. I could see remnants of grease through the servicing hole so assume it's already serviced and good to go. It did work okay and did not lock up. It says to use 75 series grease, which is pretty specific but can be bought from a couple of places in a 2oz tube. Hard to start - I had problems starting it too but finally figured out it wants a little throttle while you crank. It's awkward to do but opening the throttle a touch while cranking a couple of times either cold or warm did the trick. Before each pole I'd start it, climb the ladder and drive it in and then shut it off. As long as I proceeded to the next pole right away it would start without adding throttle. And it starts with a single pull. Really nice motor, quiet, idles nice, runs great. Screws and bolts rattle loose - Not yet but I've only done 21 out of the 164 poles I have to pound in. I did manually check every fastener and all were tight. Didn't come with everything the manual says it has or needs - The packaging was complete with everything except gasoline and engine oil. The funnel for gas has a fine screen built in to keep particulates out. A nice feature to incorporate. The driver locks up - Nope, not on me. Worked flawlessly. The break-in instructions say to only perform low or medium speed work for the first 24 hours. So I didn't go past half throttle, which is plenty of power to drive the 7' poles 2' in the ground. It was the slickest thing I've ever seen. My wife and I want to do a good job setting these poles on the shared fence line of the neighbor so we're not in a hurry. We want them in plumb, in a straight line, and the same height. Half throttle was plenty fast as the poles went in with ease. Did hit a few rocks but we just stayed at it and all went around or through the rocks. It took about 20 minutes to do all 21 poles, without a break. If I were doing this manually I'd be exhausted and would need 2 or 3 breaks. This pounder is fantastic. It has debunked every complaint others have had. I love it. Of course it's heavy. Of course it wants to move about on top of the T-Post as it hammers it in. It's to be expected. It beats doing it by hand. I never want to do that by hand ever again. Not after using this thing. I will update this review after the 164 poles are in. Let everyone know how it went. I'm hopeful it holds out and does the entire job as well as it has so far.

One post, one broken driver
What a POS. Drove one post, broken. Driver piston stopped moving and metal shaving are coming out of the bottom. Engine runs fine but the connector rod must have snapped. I've never burned cost wise by a tool like this one (40 yr carpenter). Stay away.

Hand, wrist, and shoulder saver compared to using the manual post driver!
This driver was bought to drive 2 3/8" x 8ft posts into the ground to 4 or4 1/4 ft, the kind usually used for chain link corner posts. Worked like a charm. I am extending a fence in my back yard and wanted to drive the galvanized posts rather than dig holes and use the standard 4x4 with concrete posts that were already rotting away in my existing 10 yr old fence. When considering purchasing this unit, I first spent 30 minutes beating the first post into the ground with the typical manual post driver and only got 2 - 2 1/2 feet into the root infested ground. That convinced me to go ahead and order. Once it arrived and I got everything mixed and fueled up, it cranked right up. It took no time at all to drive that first post the rest of the way down to 4 1/4 feet even at the recommended half throttle break in. The other 15 posts went in without a problem in short order. Be mindful though, this thing is heavy to wield atop an 8 ft post to get it started. Its best to have something to stand on or a second set of hands until the post gets down to a manageable level. Also, be on the lookout for hardware that may back out with the vibrations from operating. The allen heads on the aluminum anvil cover were the first thing I noticed backing out. Loctite is your friend. This thing did round over the posts slightly on the very end, depending on what it had to push through. This was expected though and were left long enough to trim off an inch or two with a portaband. The description pics show that it ships with a grease tube but the contents list does not include this. Mine did not have it in the case. There is an oil inspection window in the drive mechanism that does not show indication of any oil. I am curious if this is supposed to show a lubricant or not. Googling this only found another brand inspection cover having a grease in the piston cavity and not oil. Either way, this thing worked great, starts easily, runs well, has a great storage and transport case, and drives posts like a champ! I would definitely recommend this to anyone that is sitting on the proverbial fence. It's not the 2500$ Honda driven Rhino - Cadillac of post drivers but then again its not 2500$.

It works. Not New but used.
Got here early. It's not new has been used. Scratched up and grease all over. Read thru the book. Drained out the black oil that was in it. Added new 10-30 oil. The "Profesional Grease" tube was basically empty. Had to check other mfg sites to see what grease they used. Case seems good. Toolkit is complete. Came with 3 adapters for the different size posts. Took two pulls but fired right up. It's is not heavy but not lightweight either. Maybe 50 pounds. Drove the tposts into the clay/hardpan without breaking a sweat. Would be a 5 star review if it was new like the description said also with a full tube of "Profesional Grease". Got the 4 stroke works well. Will be updating this review as I use it to sink in hoophouse ground posts and make another lamb area. Made quick work out of the T Posts and ground posts. Worked well for driving in the ground rods for the electrical too. Update Well half way done with the hoophouse. 16 posts and on the 17th post it just stopped working. I've checked all the fluids all good. So just decided to do the maintenance. Changed spark plug and still not firing up. Will be taking apart the carb to see if its plugged. Sent a message to seller no response yet. So will post another update when/if it gets working again. Another update. Customer service is great! Replacement was quick and it finished off the rest of the hoophouse posts! Back saver! Time will tell if Quality Control has skipped every one or if they do actually inspect. So a total of 32 ground posts, 100 t posts. Hasn't even skipped a beat!

Very pleased!
I was skeptical to buy this at first. After reading every review and watching every video that could be found, I took a chance and ordered the 38cc 4 stroke model. I'm not sure what instruction booklet others received, but mine was very informative. You do have to fill the engine oil, but other than gas, that's it. I read others reviews about filling the piston case with 80/90 and I can tell you for certain that's a mistake. It will back pressure and not run. The piston foot WILL come off if you dry run it or get it crooked on a post, but it's easily reinstalled. This machine definitely does what it's supposed to! I've driven around (80) 7' posts in some rocky soil (sand stone) and also happened to drive a piece of 2" pipe thru some concrete. It is heavy and loud, but it's an engine driven post driver! Very pleased with the chance I took.

Not as Impressed as I thought
Upon receiving the item the first day the press on fitting foot came off. So therefore I could not use a machine.. upon the foot coming off I tried putting it back on and it would not go back on. Not only that the machine clutch had oil on it from the get-go.. so the clutch was slipping the reason why I know this is because you don't put oil on a clutch. Not only that no oil came with the machine not even a little bottle to go with it so you had to get your own oil to go into the compression cylinder. The instructions are not very instructive nowhere near what should be in an instruction manual to use the machine.. so the machine jammed up like it was something to do with the clutch it wouldn't pound like it's supposed to pound note this is the first Pole that I'm trying to put in the ground not 15 minutes not 20 minutes not 30 minutes the first 5 minutes of using the machine that this did this. And there's no returns on this machine. If I could I would send this back and tell him to go sink it in the ocean and use it as an anchor. Because all I have now is something that sits on my table taking up space for $300. I had to completely weld the foot back on to the ram.. and I'm going to put it back together and see what it does.. if it doesn't work after I put this on and maybe change the clutch I won't recommend this.

Worked Great for Me.
It worked great for me. It's definitely heavy and a bit cumbersome to control, but what else would you expect. It drives posts much easier than by hand. I will say that a couple of times I hit something in the ground like a rock or root that it wouldn't drive through. That's when you need to have a hand driver to force the post past the object. From there you can continue to use the powered driver. A couple of notes on setup and operation: First off, you need to put some gear oil in the reservoir with the sight glass. Secondly, the instructions say to run 20:1 fuel to oil ratio. I didn't bother with that and just ran the same 50:1 mix that I run in every other 2 stroke engine that I have. I drove a lot of post with it and ran about 2 tanks of gas so far with total success. My body thanks me for investing in one of these.

Heavy and unwieldy
This T post driver was advertised as light and easy to use. They said it weighed 40.8 lbs. Not exactly easy but possible to lift up over your head to use. When it arrived, the outside of the box had a two person lift sign stating itโs over 50 lbs. I weighed it without oil and fuel at nearly 48 lbs. That may be easy to use for a 25 year old weight lifter, but most folks are going to have a struggle even lifting it without the pile driver going

DO NOT BUY! It DOES NOT WORK! YOU CAN"T RETURN IT!
The rating should be 0 stars. The product does not work at all. It cannot pound in a 3 in post. After trying for 50 minutes the post went in 1 foot, when it needs to go in at least 2 feet. I tried a manual post pounder and it put he post in the next foot with about 8 hits. We finished the job with a manual post pounder. This machine is only designed to put in very small poles. It is not able to put in a 2 to 3 in in diameter post. It is useless. I contacted the seller and they just said it was nonreturnable over and over again. They did nothing to resolve our issue. DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY ON THIS PRODUCT! IT DOES NOT WORK! If you buy this product you are throwing your money away.

Self-destructed after a few hours of use.
I noticed after a few hours of use that there were steel filings coming out of the bottom of the machine. Then I lifted it up the hammering piston fell right out. Whatever was supposed to retain it had disappeared and four parts were badly damaged and needed to be replaced. The vendor contacted the manufacturer who suggested I should get these at a local hardware store - which is utterly ridiculous as they are all custom machined parts. I give 5 stars to the vendor who returned my money in full.
