Works Well for Gnats, but Not Perfect for All Situations The Anvin mosquito head nets are practical and inexpensive protection against gnats and no-see-ums. They’re lightweight, breathable, and roomy enough to fit over most hats—even wide-brim styles. I tested them while mowing and gardening, and they did keep bugs off my face and neck, which made outdoor chores far more tolerable. The elastic drawstring at the bottom is a good touch and helps keep insects from sneaking in underneath. Visibility is decent, though it does vary depending on lighting and color choice. The black version gives better contrast and visibility in sunlight compared to lighter colors, which can cause glare. The mesh is fine enough to block tiny bugs but does slightly darken your view, especially in bright daylight. Durability feels average.
