Arrived quickly and in perfect condition. Sets up quickly, with good instructions. Works perfect. Very easy program.

I bought this to replace my prior Orbit controller. That controller came with the house when I bought it so I don’t know how long that controller was. I was happy with the other controller but recently a line would shut off earlier than the controller was programmed. An irrigation repair company told me I should replace the controller. Getting another Orbit made the installation the same as for the previous one. It took me maybe 30 minutes to finish the swap. Everything included that one line now works perfectly.

I replaced a Toro timer that I've had for 20 years. It started to operate eratically, but can't complain about the service life. Started looking for like brand replacement but nothing appealed to me. I found this Orbit unit, good price, features I wanted, and I have other Orbit products that I like, so I gave it a chance. Arrived quickly, installed easily, programing was straightforward. I used the Toro rain sensor from previous setup. Note, the sensor has to have normally closed contact to work with this timer. One function I'm having to adjust to is the manual operation of the system. The Toro timer would cycle thru any program, say 4 zones by simply pressing "manual" twice, and the first zone in that program would start. Pressing "next" would cycle to the next zone in that program, and so forth till all zones in that program were cycled. This was handy for checking sprinkler function or blow out in the fall.The Orbit timer requires each zone in a program to be manually started, which requires a lot more button pushing. Maybe someone knows a way to do this like the Toro, which was much easier. I haven't found a method though.Updated 6-2024 Regarding manual operation:I found that if I set the "budget" value to a minimum number of 10%, I can run a full program through a cycle at the budget % setting. This is useful for checking the system or blow out.

At first my husband installed it and I set the clock time, run time on each zone and the day for it to come on. It came on the day it was set for and ran perfectly however the next day which it was set for only one day a week it came on again. I waited till the next week to see if this was an on going problem it was I then called Orbit explained what was going on he said lets set your times up again to see if it will come on as suppose to next week. He took me through all steps as I had done correctly but the next week same thing it came on the correct day but then again the next day. Called them back and he said then lets try pressing the reset button and we can then reset your timer with day of week and time zones to come on and for how long to run each one, so we did all that again, after pressing the reset button on the Orbit timer it has worked perfectly ever since. So we are very happy with it. So if it gives you a problem before spending time on the phone just press the reset button first to see if it clears info that you don’t want on it.

My parents LOVED this. Had to ORDER unit from local stores and wait DAYS for delivery. Not acceptable with daily temperatures in the 100+ degree range. Amazon delivered very quickly. I installed as a replacement for a 19 year old very similar unit. Works like a charm.

Good quality item. A little pricey but easy to install and program

This timer was very easy to set up and I like the way the dial is set up for use, It has a manual mode, push it one time and it will go through your settings at your will. I like that, just touch it once and it goes through all your zones if you need an extra watering.

This is the second purchase of this controller. My first one purchased several years ago & performs perfectly. Not only easy to install but easy to use as well! Yes, I would buy this same product again if it was needed!
