I would agree that this item is quite expensive and I did have second thoughts about purchasing. However, after a few minutes working out what the instructions were actually telling me to do, I got to grips with this very simple but effect thermometer. Clear temperature readings and an alarm if you have a fever. I use the forehead measurement the most, but the ear method works perfectly too. Impressed and happy with the quality of the equipment.
