Jury is still out - updated - looking good
Was very excited to get this up and running for my home office. Set up was very easy and instructions were pretty straightforward Unfortunately for now it is unusable due to horrendous feedback/interference noise audible to whoever you're talking with (even with microphone muted) - have adjusted the radio range, other advanced settings with no luck. Even when interference dies down, the audio quality is poor. HOWEVER - the telephone I'm hooked up to also uses DECT 6.0 so I've ordered a Fred Flinstone phone with no DECT capabilities to see if that diminishes the interference issue. Will update review with the new set up. But be warned, if you are using a DECT 6.0 expandable phone system - this headset will probably not fit your needs 3/17/2012 Works great with a featureless non RF phone - very satisfied 3/28/2012 Have been using this now for a couple of weeks - it is hands down the best headset I've used. I actually thought I'd be annoyed by the low beep when I'm on mute, but I have found it to be incredibly helpful in reminding me when i'm not audible (or when I am). Voice quality is outstanding, range is great - I can walk throughout my house (and on to the patio) with no diminution of quality

Great product with one flaw
I'm overly happy with this headset. I use it on a Cisco IP communicator soft phone on my computer. It sounds great, and has great range. Once in a while I hear a strange buzzing noise, but I'm guessing it's just interference on the channel. The flaw, and I do think it's pretty big, as I stated, I use this to talk to people through my computer using Cisco software, so you'd think there were be a feature on the headset to allow you to answer the phone when your away from your desk. What's the point of having a 400 foot range, if you need to be at your desk to answer the phone. If there is a feature that I'm missing that allows you to remotely answer your phone, I can't find it myself. Other than being desk bound, it's a great product and would highly recommend.

Yep. I like this headset. You will too.
I finally got tired of buying the little corded headsets for my wireless phone and go for the big leagues. After reading lots of reviews, it seemed like the OfficeRunner by Sennheiser was the way to go. After figuring out how to turn it on and get it charging, in about 20 minutes I was testing it out. I can sit in my small home office with music playing, co-workers talking, AC blowing, and the other party can't hear anything but my voice. I walked all over my property, talking for an hour solid and it never skipped a beat. Very nice headset. One thing I didn't understand going in was that you'd have to physically take your phone off hook to answer (thought this device would have that covered). For those who think this is a full phone, it's not - it's only a headset that connects you your phone headset jack. They sell a separate mechanical lifter, but that's a luxury I can't afford, so you'll have to be sitting at your desk to answer a call without one. However, another reviewer pointed to Line2.com as a Mac (or PC) based phone option. This headset also works as a USB headset, so I got set up with Line2 for a cloud-based phone system. Super affordable and highly recommended for all you home-based businesses out there. This headset works great with their system. I'm hoping this thing serves me well for years to come. My only wish is that they'd make it possible to answer calls without a lifter. Seems like that wouldn't be that difficult... how about that, Sennheiser?

An otherwise good headset has frustrating flaws can be embarrassing on calls
While the wireless range, comfort and call quality of the headset are good there are a couple of fairly glaring design flaws that can be very problematic during calls. First the mute button. It's really inexcusable that they haven't fixed the mute button's "sticking" problem that makes it lockup while being pressed so that you cannot mute or unmute until you jiggle it enough to find the "sweet spot" This is a serious issue that has made it very difficult to mute the headset (or unmute) when needed. The second issue is the call answer/hangup button and use with Windows apps. If you pickup the headset from the cradle AFTER you've started say a Skype call... then you push the connect button to connect the headset to the base... you will hang up the call. This is another design issue that should have been corrected years ago as it's purely a software issue on the Sennheiser side. Sennheiser should change the software to NOT hang up calls if the headset is not connected to the base (when you press the connect button). I've called Headsets.com about this (they provide support for Sennheiser on these headsets) and was told I'd be called back by their team that interfaces with Sennheisers development staff to discuss... and have never received any calls.

Stylish, but awkward headset alone. Really designed for use with over the ear attachment. Good range.
I bought this to replace my Plantronics 530. I absolutely hated that product because I hate ear buds that go in my ear. Ick. So I was looking for a product that doesn't actually go in my ear - like my Jabra Supreme for my iphone. Out of the box the OfficeRunner is beautiful and stylish. The LEDs are easy to see. If you set up a Plantronics before, setup for OfficeRunner is a bit easier because the cables have easier access with OfficeRunner. Placing the headset in the base for charging is not that easy. Matching the charge plate from the base to the headset requires a bit of effort and playing around with. OfficeRunner loses to Plantronics in this respect because Plantronics uses a magnet to ensure the headset firmly attaches the base. Nothing like that here. I bought the product though because of the headset, so let's talk about that. It advertises that the OfficeRunner can sit on the ear by itself using an earloop or as a headset that can sit over the head on one ear. It's easy to switch back and forth and add or remove the headset from the over the head clip. By itself though, wearing it using an earloop, is awkward. Its too heavy and gangly to sit snuggly against the ear. There is a small earbud on the earpiece. It's not bad and I don't notice it too much. But I found that by itself, the earpiece doesn't really work well. When you attach the headset to the over the head attachment, the earbud on the headset fits nicely into a padded ear cover. The over the head attachment can be adjusted to fit your head. I find that I can wear the over the head attachment for hours without discomfort. I have found I have trouble getting the headset off without knocking off my glasses. That may be my own clumsiness but the end of the over the ear attachment (on the ear without the headset) is large and keeps catching on my glasses frames. I've noticed a few times that when it does drop off my head the headset/over the ear headpiece will break apart when it lands on the floor and I need to put it back together. Overall, sound quality is good and has a good range. I can walk all the way down the hall with the signal having to travel through multiple walls and get easy over 100 feet distance without any noticeable difference in sound. It's range is about 25% more than my Plantronics. Adjusting the volume is easy through a small lever on the back of the headset and the mute is quick with a push of the button. The on/off switch is on the side of the unit using a button that protrudes from the base of the headset. Not too much difficulty there. If I want to use a headset lifter I cannot use the headset lifter from my Plantronics and need to buy a Sennheiser proprietary lifter. That's an annoyance but what did I expect - an industry standard for headset lifters (ha! yeah, right). Overall I am giving this a 3 because the reason I bought it (for a headset that matches the ease and comfort of my Jabra Supreme), it doesn't really match my needs.

Perfect for the person who loves walking around as they talk
The headset system is very good, a bit expensive but has worked perfectly for exactly what I need it for. Pro: Very good range - i've not found the maximum range yet as i've walked out of my house and across the street and it still works for me without fading or noise. Very clear audio - I can hear everything I need to Everyone hears me clearly Can be used with different kinds of headsets (comes with an over the head, and the on the ear loop) Cons: A bit expensive in my opinion I wish the headset knew when it was not in use and would turn off My previous headset was an Plantronics S series headset that was wired, while the mobility was not there, it was cheap, clear, and performed almost as good as this but it was wired, which eventually my dog ripped apart one day while jumping on me. I mentioned that it would be nice if the headset knew when it was not in use, because I was used to the previous headset mentioned, and I would just take it off. Since I forget to take the ear piece and put it on the charger, I wake up sometimes and have a dead headset.

Not worth the price
After using this headset for a couple years, I am changing my review from 5 stars to 1. List of issues: 1. Mute button is needlessly difficult to press inward 2. Mute / unmute sound is almost identical, very difficult to differentiate 3. Mute button stopped working correctly after a few months of use, and causes repeat mute/unmute when pressed 4. Headset is EXCEPTIONALLY fussy about how to place it on the stand. If it is not aligned PERFECTLY, it will not charge. But you won't know that because the blue charging light comes on anyway, it just isn't charging. 5. Forget about keeping a spare battery. If your headset is running low and you swap in a fresh battery, the headset gets confused and also thinks that the new battery is low. The only way to fix this is to put the headset on the stand for 15 minutes and let it figure out what the battery's actual charge level is. Unacceptable amount of issues for a product at this price range. This is priced as an upper premium product, but is average at best.

Worth the money
I've now bought 3 of these for our pediatric office -- one for the phone nurse, two for reception, and I'll be getting another one for the other nurse desk. I was wary at first -- we tried some other headphones a long time ago and staff members just didn't use them -- I assume because they had trouble with them. However, these are so comfortable, people walk out with them on their heads -- and then have to turn around and bring them back in, sometimes after getting all the way out to their cars and putting on sunglasses. It's a real testament to how comfortable they are. The ear mount works ok, but the over the head approach is the way most have chosen. You will need a handset lifter, which is an added cost, but makes the system work. I bought the Sennheiser HSL10 for $85. They work so well we often walk up to someone on the phone and start talking, so I have been working on getting busy lights. I'll see which one works out and post an update on type and price. Good points: 1. They work at 400-500 feet as advertised, so nurses and reception walk around, put on hold, get an answer. It makes them efficient. 2. Even works with our old phone system -- NEC 3. Clear as a bell -- if you aren't hearing or being heard well, call the help line. It's fixable. Problems: 1. Sometimes somebody leaves it on the charger wrong, so it doesn't charge over night. 2. Putting it on your phone is not without complication. Instructions are good, with good illustrations, but it isn't easy-peasy. 3. These are not cheap -- but they work.

Works very well but there is a interop issue with MS Lync
The headset is excellent, delivers on all the expectations. I have no been able to walk out of range in my house and the battery life is superior to anything I have used in the past. The only thing that could be better is its interaction with Microsoft Lync. I use this headset on a Macbook pro and I also use Microsoft Lync fro instant messaging. Whenever Lync is launched it takes over the headset and interferes with the planned usage for my soft-phone. Therefore I am no longer able to use Lync while using the headset with my soft-phone. I have researched the issue and also contacted Tech support, the issue also occurred with windows and other applications like skype for business. There has been a firmware update for windows released by Sennheiser but there is no F/W update for the latest Mac OS, so be informed if you plan to buy this for use with Mac and you use Lync. My interaction with the tech support team at Headsets.com was very positive but they came to the same conclusion as I did as to the solution needs to be a f/w update. If Sennheiser delays too long on getting the F/W update my rating may change.

Great service, great headset.
This is the headset you have been looking for. Yes, it's expensive; it's worth it. I tried to make do with an inferior headset for the past year and a half and as soon as I tried this one, I regretted having waited that long to make the switch. It works incredibly well with Dragon and doesn't have the mic pairing issues that some other headsets do. Plus, the over the head version is super comfortable. I can't recommend this highly enough.

Doesn't work with cell phones...just in case you were wondering.
Probably a great unit, but not for use with cell phone - sadly. If that was listed in the description, I didn't read it. I was hoping to set it up with my VOIP and had some issues with a land line and then thought it could work with my cell, but sadly not an option. Style and weight (super light) were great though. Never got a chance to use it.

Not worth the premium price
For the price, this was just not up to par. I had to call support to get it working at first. Needed some resets and some upgrades to work with my computer. The autosense to switch to the computer only worked half the time and interfered with being able to manually switch between desk phone and computer. Also it buzzed occasionally that both sides could hear. I gave up on it and went back to the Plantronics W740. Although the W740 is a bit more in cost, it's much better value. I will give it one thing. The battery life is great. When it's not buzzing the sound is also good.
